Nate Bargatze just added comedian Anjelah Johnson-Reyes to his stable of Nateland Entertainment stars.

“Nateland Entertainment, the production company of Nate Bargatze, has expanded its podcast network with the signing of Anjelah Johnson-Reyes’ ‘Funjelah,'” Deadline reported

“Funjelah” is a comedy and mental health podcast hosted by Johnson-Reyes, where she and her guests share their “Gratitudes and Maditudes” and dive into heartfelt conversations.

“I think audiences are looking for comedy that feels fun again. Comedy you can really enjoy with your friends and family anytime… That’s what we’re building with our podcast network,” Bargatze said in a statement about the recent developments at Nateland.

Adrian Kulp, SVP of Digital & Production at Nateland added, “Nateland is evolving into a home for clean, character-driven comedy across multiple generations of talent — whether that means developing original shows from within our own comedy ecosystem like THE CONSUMERS, expanding established communities like ‘Life of Dad’ into premium podcast experiences, or partnering with proven voices like Anjelah Johnson-Reyes and Trey Kennedy. We’re focused on building a network where audiences know they can consistently find smart, funny content that feels accessible to everybody.”

Like Bargatze, Johnson-Reyes is a clean comedian — something she never intended to be.

“I didn’t really want to go a clean comedy route,” she told Relevant Magazine. “It was just when I started doing stand-up, that was just kind of how I spoke and what I was comfortable talking about and how I was comfortable talking.”

Like many comedians, she recently pivoted into podcasting, but for her, it was driven by the desire to stay home and spend time with her daughter.

“That was the real motivation to start a podcast,” she explained. “What if my podcast takes off and then I get to stay home and be with my child?”

She and Bargatze are both Christians, something they discussed during a recent episode of “Funjelah.”

“God has a path, and I’m just here to follow the path, so I just kind of wait and see where the doors open,” Bargatze shared, adding that Johnson-Reyes’ influence helped him stand strong in his own faith over the years.

He explained, “We were together so long, that could have spiraled me into a whole [other] realm, but he put me with you, someone that was like-minded with me. You know you openly, you’ve always talked about your faith. And so that was even just nice for me to see, even at that time, just to, you know…you’re always grateful for your time with people.”

With the addition of Johnson-Reyes’ podcast, Nateland is becoming a major force of family-friendly entertainment!
