With Steven Spielberg’s DISCLOSURE DAY still filling theaters, a new documentary is already prepared with a sharper answer to Hollywood’s favorite question about extraterrestrial life.
“People are being told these are visitors from other planets—advanced beings to help humanity evolve to the next level,” said co-director and co-writer Wes Llewellyn in a press release. “But when examining the evidence alongside Scripture, you see it’s simply part of an ancient, invisible war continuing since the creation of mankind.”
Amaris International Media and Winter Star Productions announced this week that UFOS AND GOD will release Sept. 10, 2026, through Vision Films. The 94-minute documentary is co-directed and co-written by Wes and Amanda Llewellyn, in collaboration with bestselling author and producer Bill Myers, producer Paul Arroyo and executive producer Derrick Warfel. It weaves documented UFO cases, credible eyewitness testimony, scientific analysis, and biblical theology into one central argument: the surge in UAP sightings isn’t extraterrestrial — it’s supernatural.
The moment is ripe. Governments, military officials and whistleblowers have spent years acknowledging the reality of unidentified aerial phenomena, and mainstream media has largely framed these encounters as benign — possibly even benevolent. UFOS AND GOD challenges that assumption squarely.
The timing sharpens against Spielberg’s DISCLOSURE DAY, which opened June 12 starring Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor, framing alien disclosure as a society-shaking event with pointed questions for religious audiences. Amanda Llewellyn, who serves as both co-director and a first-person witness — she has reported her own encounters with UFO beings — addressed the blockbuster directly.
“This weekend, Spielberg’s film, DISCLOSURE DAY, asked, ‘What does this do to fundamental religious beliefs? Is our God only the God of this planet? Should we look to other sources for truth?’” Amanda Llewellyn said in the press release. “Our documentary seeks to answer these and other questions for people of faith.”
The movie draws from a deep bench of experts: astrophysicists Dr. Hugh Ross, founder of Reasons to Believe, and Dr. Jeff Zweerink; apologist Greg Koukl of Stand to Reason; US Navy radar operator and UAPx President Gary Voorhis; theologians, ufologists and former abductees. Together they build a case the filmmakers hope Christians will carry back into their churches, their families and their conversations with skeptics.
Myers brings serious filmmaking credibility to the project. The internationally acclaimed writer, director and bestselling author has won over 60 national and international awards and produced content for Focus on the Family, Teen Challenge, Child Evangelism Fellowship, St. Jude’s Hospital and Open Doors International. Executive producer Warfel — a Princeton graduate and Bible teacher trained at Dallas Theological Seminary — kept the film’s purpose plain.
“This isn’t about paranoia of the unknown,” Warfel said. “It’s about going to the source of truth, the Bible, in a time of increasing confusion.”
Movieguide® has already reviewed UFOS AND GOD, awarding it four out of four stars for entertainment quality. The review finds a very strong Christian, biblical worldview throughout, calls the documentary “both fascinating and terrifying” and advises parental discernment for younger children due to unsettling imagery.
In conjunction with the release, Warfel is also publishing a companion book, UFOs and God, which expands on the film’s themes in a conversational, accessible format and offers practical guidance for spiritual discernment.
