GUTENBERG 2 – ADAM AND EVE

What You Need To Know:

GUTENBERG II is an ambitious attempt to tell God’s stories in Arabic to reach the Muslim audience. Each movie is fully indigenous, directed, acted and produced in Arabic. So far, Bible based stories about Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Samuel, David, and Elijah have been produced. These are not word for word stories from the Bible. Instead, they tell God’s stories in creative ways to reach the millions of people who speak Arabic in the Muslim world. Each story incorporates the knowledge of sin and the need for salvation.

The Adam and Eve program is very well done. It starts with Adam and Eve outside of the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve discuss the beauty of Eden in retrospect. They raise Cain and Abel, hoping that sin has not been passed on to the next generation. Of course, it has, and the ending of the story is tragic. MOVIEGUIDE(r) commends everyone involved in this project, which refutes many of Islam’s falsehoods about Christianity. It is very important to reach the Muslim community with the truth of God’s Word, and GUTENBERG II is making an effort to do just that.

Content:

(CCC, BBB) Very strong Christian, moral worldview; and, nothing objectionable.

More Detail:

GUTENBERG II is an ambitious attempt to tell God’s stories from the Bible in Arabic to reach the Muslim audience.

Instead, they are telling God’s stories in creative ways to reach the millions of people who speak Arabic in the Muslim world with biblical truth in such a way as to sow the seeds of the need for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the hearts of the viewers. Each story tries to incorporate the knowledge of sin and the need for salvation.

The need for these stories in Arabic is great. Since Mohammed was not a learned man, there is much confusion about the Bible in the Koran, and thus in the understanding of the Bible by Muslims. For instance, Mohammed said that Miriam, or Mary, the mother of Jesus, was the same person as the sister of Moses who lived hundreds of years earlier. Of course, this sounds absurd to anyone with a basic knowledge of the Bible, but if you only read the Koran, these falsehoods will never be clarified.

The Adam and Eve program that MOVIEGUIDE(r) reviewed is very well done. To get over some of the possible complaints by the Islamic community, it starts with Adam and Eve outside of the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve discuss the beauty of Eden in retrospect. They also raise Cain and Abel, hoping that their sin has not been passed on to the next generation. Of course, it has, and the ending of the story is tragic.

MOVIEGUIDE(r) commends everyone involved in this project. It is very important to reach the Muslim community with the truth of God’s Word, and, GUTENBERG II is making an effort to do just that.
