I met Ted Baehr in 1987 when desktop publishing was one of the key technology revolutions. I had a small MacPlus with it’s nine inch black and white screen and a $4,000 Apple laser printer. I was cutting edge. For many years, I did the layout work on Movieguide® the magazine. Ted and Lili became close friends.
Now, there’s a new technological revolution with artificial intelligence. I love it. I am what might be called a geek. I spend my days on my computer.
Over the years, I’ve written the lyrics for hundreds of songs. I even created a paperback book called Rhymes from the Heart. I couldn’t find anyone willing to sing any of them. In 2023, I discovered Suno AI and can now hear my songs sung in any style I wish to hear. I write a song, put the lyrics in Suno with a little coding for verses and choruses and select a style. With in less than a minute, I have amazing vocals and music.
This year, I invested in a subscription to Higgsfield AI. I feel like a kid in a candy shop. I made a video of myself at 74 having a conversation with myself at 20 years old. I looked so much better then. Within a week, I had Higgsfield illustrate seven books for me. Then, I tackled making a music video with tools I’d never dreamed of.
In one scene in the video, I have George Washington praying at Valley Forge and then stand up. I have an eagle flying over the neighborhood I live in, and I had historical figures having a conversation.
Since retiring from working full time for Movieguide® in 2017, I’ve spent much of my time writing movie scripts. One was made into a movie called I Believe that’s now available on YouTube.
I’m now looking forward to making a feature length animated movie sitting in my office using my computer. I found it difficult to interest human filmmakers in several of my scripts, but with this revolution I can make one myself. Imagine a movie with credits at the end with one name.
I realize people working in all the filmmaking trades have reason to fear AI, but there are people like myself that get rejected for many of their ideas. We can’t get a foot in the door. For us, AI throws the door wide open.
Here is my first full Higgsfield music video made to glorify God.
