Christian artist Ben Fuller and country superstar Carrie Underwood just performed their new duet, “If It Was Up To Me,” at the Grand Ole Opry.

“Ya’ll, this guy is the real deal!” Underwood wrote in an Instagram post. “Thanks, @bendfuller for letting me sing with ya’ on the @opry stage! I love this song so much and was so glad we got to sing it together for the first time in such a special place!”

Fuller celebrated “If It Was Up To Me” in an April Instagram post, writing, “If it was up to me, I’d miss blessing after blessing, I’d never know how good God is, and I’d never experience true freedom. I’m so grateful @carrieunderwood would lend her voice to this song.”

The pair’s duet will feature on Fuller’s recently released album, Walk Through Fire

“I’m so honored to present to you a body of work that has been brought from above,” the singer posted on Instagram. “This is for anyone who’s struggling to know that Jesus still loves you, no matter what. Thank God I had to Walk Through Fire.”

In a statement given to The Christian Beat, Fuller said, “God walked everywhere when He was on this earth. He was never in a hurry. He meets you where you are — whether at your highest high or your lowest low.”

“I’m thankful that I had to walk through fire to get to where I am today,” he continued. “It was time to throw out my old boots, the ones covered in sin and shame, and put on new ones as I started my walk with God.”

Country fans are still waiting on a new album from Underwood, but in the meantime, the singer has been busy serving as a judge on AMERICAN IDOL. However, her return is still up in the air.

“I don’t know!” she told Entertainment Tonight when asked whether or not she’ll continue as a judge on the singing competition show. “There’s lots to contemplate.”

AMERICAN IDOL showrunner and executive producer Megan Michaels Wolflick praised Underwood in an interview with TVLine, saying, “I think [Underwood] brought so much. She really had to carve out her own role. She was stepping into the shoes of a former judge, but she needed to be her own person, and she definitely did that.”

As for whether or not the show’s judges panel will stay the same, Wolflick teased, “It’s early days still, but I love our panel. I think we’re in a good place…They’re all passionate about the show.”

Fans have to wait and see what comes first for Underwood, a new album or another season of AMERICAN IDOL, but in the meantime, they can stream her and Fuller’s amazing duet.
