BLIND SIDE actor Quinton Aaron’s family updated fans on his condition following a spinal stroke.
“We acknowledge that you’ve heard about Quinton Aaron‘s condition,” the family said in a statement shared with ABC News. “We appreciate the overwhelming love, support and prayers that Quinton has received over the past few days from his fans, the public, and our concerned community.”
They continued, “To update everyone, he had a spinal stroke. He is alert, aware and recovering. The Aaron family has a lot to deal with for the betterment of their loved one, but will be sure to keep everyone posted regarding Quinton’s health as we see fit.”
“We kindly ask the public to please respect the decisions we make and to please understand that false information or statements may be made by others who continue to come forward but are not fully informed or aware of all of the facts surrounding his condition nor are they authorized to do so!” the statement concluded.

TMZ first reported on Aaron’s stroke, sharing they spoke to his wife Margarita, who called him “a fighter.”
“He’s showing a lot of improvement,” she said. “We all have faith in God that he will walk out of here fully recovered.”
His former manager, Martin Luther Wardlaw, told ABC News “that things are looking more positive.”
“Some things are under control and other things are not, and we’re just praying and hoping for the best right now,” he added.
Aaron had previously spoken about his recent weight-loss journey, which was inspired by a near-death experience that saw him fall unconscious into a body of water, which may have been due to diabetic ketoacidosis.
“I had this come-to-Jesus kind of moment a few years back,” he told Fox News, sharing that once he went to the hospital, doctors told him he also had a bone infection.
The actor said, “God visited me, and He was like, ‘Do you want to die?’ And I said, ‘No.’ And I didn’t know who I’m answering, but I hear this voice talking to me. And I said, ‘No.’ And He goes, ‘So what are you gonna do?’ And I said, ‘I need help.’”
Aaron went on to lose more than 200 pounds, saying, “It wasn’t an overnight process. It definitely took some work, but my mindset was at that point where it was like, I got a lot of things I want to live for.”
Fans all over the world are keeping Aaron in their prayers as he continues to recover from his spinal stroke.
