There were plenty of TV shows that captured people’s attention this year, but one dominated the rest — children’s show BLUEY was the most-watched show of 2025.
“BLUEY continues to dominate U.S. streaming, finishing as the most-watched title of 2025,” Boardroom reported, referring to Nielsen viewer data.

The mega-popular children’s show earned 39.3 billion minutes watched over the past year. For comparison, runner-up GREY’S ANATOMY scored 30.3 billion views.
BLUEY was consistently popular throughout the year; The Hollywood Reporter pointed out that the show made Nielsen’s top 10 streaming charts for 163 consecutive weeks, making it “the longest such run for any show in the five-plus years Nielsen has released weekly streaming data.”
“The Disney+ kids’ cartoon last fell outside the top 10 acquired series list in the week ending Oct. 2, 2022,” the outlet continued, joking, “A child born during the week that the streak began is probably watching BLUEY right now.”
This news continues BLUEY’s hot streak — in 2024, the show was also named “the No.1 most watched show (of all shows) in America for 2024,” per Variety Australia.
So, what makes BLUEY so endlessly popular, with both children and adults?
“For children, BLUEY’s lessons are interesting suggestions, not direct appeals,” Kathryn VanArendonk, a writer for Vulture, explained. “The parent side is where BLUEY’s behavior modeling feels more pointed.”
She continued, “The adults make mistakes and get snappish with one another, but their imperfections are small and sweet. They are aspirational, a beacon of what life could be like if we were all more open and forgiving. The show is never judgmental.”
Fans of BLUEY have plenty to celebrate — the beloved characters will be featured in a feature-length movie, set to hit theaters the summer of 2027.
According to a press release, the movie will “continue the adventures of Bluey, a lovable, inexhaustible, blue heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo.”
There are also new episodes of BLUEY on the way. BBC Studios’ Jasmine Dawson shared, “I can’t talk about the specifics, but what I can tell you is that we have already commissioned seven new digital original series that will launch this year, which is 80-plus new episodes for YouTube. And we’re only just getting started.”
With viewership numbers like these, it looks like BLUEY will continue topping the streaming charts!
