Brandon Lake Talks Healing in Powerful Song ‘TEAR OFF THE ROOF’

Christian artist Brandon Lake just released “TEAR OFF THE ROOF,” a new song on his “COAT OF MANY COLORS” album.

“‘TEAR OFF THE ROOF’ speaks to multiple stories in the Bible of healing,” Lake shared.

The song is about the amazing faith portrayed by followers of Christ. It serves as an acknowledgment of God’s power. The song’s new music video features scenes from the Biblical hit TV series THE CHOSEN.

Lake said, “I can’t think of a better storyteller of Jesus than THE CHOSEN TV series, so it made so much sense to team up and have their help in sharing the story of this song, which is based off of Mark Chapter 2 and Luke Chapter 8. Thank you to The Chosen for changing my life among millions of others. We pray this song reminds you of the healing power of Jesus!”

Some of the song’s lyrics read:

There’s power in the presence

Power in the blood

Power in the name of Jesus

There’s power in the name of Jesus

There is a life changing

Grave shaking

Dead raising power in the room

No ceiling power

So tear off the roof

The Christian Beat reported about the artist: “Earlier this week, Lake was honored at ASCAP’s Christian Music Awards as Songwriter of the Year…Dubbed ‘one of the most sought-after artists in the Christian genre’ by MusicRow Magazine, the first release off of the new album, “Praise You Anywhere,” broke streaming records on Amazon Music.”

“COAT OF MANY COLORS” will be out on October 20.

Movieguide® recently reported on why Lake leads worship at his home church:

‘I tell writers all the time, it benefits me to be still connected [with my church],’ Lake told Christian Headlines.

The singer described how his involvement in his church nourishes his soul, like how ‘a tree planted by streams of water’ will have ‘tree roots that flourish.’

‘And that’s important to me. I was raised in a local church, I’m a PK [pastor’s kid], and that’s not changing. And so, I stay healthy when I stay planted,’ he explained.

With Grammy awards, successful collaborations and a now a new album, Lake’s productivity in the Christian music industry is a testament to this.
