Candace Cameron Bure Loved Her Latest GAF Role
By Movieguide® Contributor
Movieguide® presenter and Teddy Bear Award® winner Candace Cameron Bure is dishing on her latest role in Great American Family’s AINSLEY MCGREGOR MYSTERIES: A CASE FOR THE WINEMAKER.
“In A CASE FOR THE WINEMAKER, Ainsley’s best friends, Shannon and Michael, own a winery and someone’s murdered,” Bure explained in a video filmed on the movie’s set. “There are a lot of suspects within the community and some really strange people that have appeared in town recently. So we’re trying to figure out who’s done it.”
Movieguide®’s positive review of the movie reads:
AINSLEY MCGREGOR MYSTERIES: A CASE FOR THE WINEMAKER stars Candace Cameron Bure (“Bur-ay”) in the title role. Ainsley is a former criminologist who returns to the small town of Sweet River, Texas for a big career change. Ainsley turned in her badge and credentials to open her own business in Sweet River, a place where artists can sell their work. Ainsley can’t deny her passion for solving crimes, however, when she discovers a murdered body in her best friend’s wine cellar. Her friend’s husband is a prime suspect, but other suspects and questions come to Ainsley’s attention. Then, Ainsley finds a note on her door warning, “Stay out of this, or you’re next.”
AINSLEY MCGREGOR MYSTERIES: A CASE FOR THE WINEMAKER is a well-produced, enjoyable movie with high-quality performances. The movie has a strong moral worldview with Christian values. For example, it promotes healthy relationships, truth and justice. A CASE FOR THE WINEMAKER doesn’t have any crude or obscene content. However, it does feature a murder mystery, although there’s minimal blood and violence. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children.
The mystery is based on a book by Candace Havens.
“I really liked who Ainsley is,” Bure shared. “Different from any other characters that I’ve played in that she’s more analytical and she’s a creative person, but there’s so much thought and intention behind everything every step that she makes and everything that she does.”
“I absolutely love the relationships in this story. The audience is going to fall in love with all of these new characters. You’ll want to continue and stay on this journey with us,” Bure said.
And that journey is likely to continue with more movies based on Havens’ book series. Other books in the series are titled, “A Case for the Yarn Maker,” “A Case for the Toy Maker,” “A Case for the Candle Maker” and “A Case for the Cookie Baker.”
In A CASE FOR THE WINEMAKER, McGregor has a furry sidekick named George. Bure posted a photo of her happily hugging her co-star last month.
She said, “Meet George 🐾 my pawwfect trusty sidekick in the Ainsley McGregor Mystery series!!”
