Candace Cameron Bure Wants to Share Jesus Instead of Return to THE VIEW
By Cooper Dowd
Candace Cameron Bure, known for her roles on FULL HOUSE and the reboot FULLER HOUSE, also spent nearly a year co-hosting the popular daytime talk show THE VIEW before leaving in 2016.
Although the Emmy Award-winning series is looking for someone to fill the fifth chair alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Meghan McCain, and Sunny Hostin, Bure said she does not plan to reapply because she wants to share Jesus rather than her political opinion.
“I just don’t publicly want to talk about politics,” Bure explained. “Not because I don’t believe that my viewpoints and opinions are important, but I would much rather share Jesus with people. That’s really my passion.”
Bure said that she wants to avoid the divisive nature of many political debates and build relationships instead.
“I don’t want to get into the political debate because it just is about division and separation. And I want to learn. I want to be [part of] a conversation about how to build a bridge,” Bure said.
One of the ways Bure is taking charge in this area is her partnership with personal delivery service Shipt. Bure will participate in the Shipt Shuffle Challenge, which is looking to give people something to celebrate during the school year despite the pandemic.

Bure continued to work on set amid the pandemic and notes that the slower pace is a healthy change for many of the cast and crew.
“The one good thing about [working with new safety guidelines] is that everyone has to move at a little bit slower of a pace because everyone can’t do their job at the same time. I actually think that’s a plus,” Bure said.
“It allows people to do their specific job with a little extra room and a few extra minutes. I think it’s a really good positive thing because usually everyone is in such a rush to get it done so fast, so [quickly] and so now everyone’s taking a breath,” Bure added.
Movieguide® previously reported on Bure’s upcoming film projects and her heart for service while trusting God:
Bure is sure of her identity in Christ and is thankful that she does not need to worry or be anxious for an uncertain future. She encouraged people who may not be feeling peaceful in their circumstances to turn to God’s Word and pray.
“I know I am the daughter of God,” Bure said. “I know I’m a child of God, and I have no doubt. So it is the foundation of who I am, but I don’t know how to tell someone to get there. All I can tell you is spend time in the Word of God, spend time with God—in prayer, in the quiet, reading His word.”
Bure is candid that this is not always her first response but that it is heartening to know that God is in control.
“But I just know. It doesn’t mean that I don’t have questions and I don’t think sometimes, like, ‘My God, are you sure?’” Bure conceded. “I’m grateful that I’m not God because obviously, I’d make a lot of bad decisions. He’s God and I trust Him even though I don’t always understand why.”
Not only has Bure made her faith the center of her career in Hollywood, but she also noted how it affects the rest of her life outside of work. It gives her opportunities to encourage strangers and point them to Jesus.
“I can’t leave my relationship with God at the door, whether that’s within my family, whether that’s at work, whether that’s on social media, whether I’m at Starbucks, getting a coffee and saying, ‘God bless you, thank you.’” Bure said. “It’s just part of who I am in my everyday speech and I don’t shy away from it.”
