Kansas City Chiefs defensive back L’Jarius Sneed is thanking God as he prepares to make his second Super Bowl appearance.
Before the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens, he tweeted, “God, I thank You.”

Sneed was a main factor in their win against the Ravens when he forced a turnover late in the game.
Per Sports Spectrum, “Sneed knocked the ball out of wide receiver Zay Flowers’ hands at the goal line with Kansas City leading 17-7. The Chiefs went on to win 17-10.”

After the game, Sneed told the press, “We had a lot of doubters from the beginning of the season. No one believed in us…We had a lot of adversity and kept going. And look where we’re at now.”
He has worked incredibly hard to get to where he is now.
In 2020, his rookie season, Sneed could only play nine games due to an injury. However, through that time, he relied on his faith to sustain him.
In an interview towards the end of 2020, he told Chiefs Wire, “First of all, I started off by praying with God. It was hard on my mental, you know, how I started off. Plus, me trying to come back and maintain that same image that I put out. But with God, anything is possible. So, I kept my faith in God.”
Sneed characterizes himself as a Christian and includes Isaiah 54:17 in his Instagram bio. It reads, “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,’ declares the Lord.”
In the regular season this year, he has not allowed any touchdowns, which makes him first in the NFL. He also leads the AFC with 17 forced incompletions.
Tune in Feb. 11 to watch Sneed and the Chiefs face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
