Christian Comic Chonda Pierce Hosts Hilarious Special Via Facebook Live

Christian comedian Chonda Pierce held a virtual benefit on her couch in Nashville to help ease fear and give back to her community.

Pierce called the Facebook live special “The Quarantine Comics,” which featured comedians Jeff Allen and Bone Hampton. Singer-songwriter Gary Chapman also joined the group that had over 78,000 people watching.

In a statement to Fox News, Pierce said, “People could use some laughs and I want to spread around much-needed hope. Over the years, laughter has been good medicine that has helped me navigate personal pain, tragedy, grief, and depression.”

The video lasted an hour, and over that period of time the comedians touched on coronavirus testing, being quarantined, worship songs, and a slew of other topics to help make others laugh.

Along with trying to keep smiles on people’s faces during a scary time, the group was able to raise over $1,000 for Samaritan’s Purse, Franklin Graham’s disaster relief organization.

This organization assisted in Italy and Nashville after they were hit with a devastating tornado earlier this year.

Pierce also helped support a local pizzeria in her hometown of Ashland City, Tennessee, by paying for anyone’s delivery.

The comic said she hopes other celebrities will give back during this time of need.
