Christian NFL Star Russell Wilson and Wife Ciara On Raising 3 Children: ‘It’s Been a Blessing’

NFL quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara said they are “grateful” for their three children who provide “non-stop entertainment.”

Russell and Ciara, who were married in 2016, parent 19-month-old son Win Harrison, daughter Sienna Princess, 4, and son Future Zahir, 7, whom Ciara shares with ex Future.

“These kids are funny. Our kids are really hilarious, and obviously the older they get, the more they think they know,” Ciara told People in a recent interview. “They say the third baby kind of moves or learns the quickest because they’re trying to keep up with their siblings, and he’s on it. He’s talking really early, he’s moving, he’s a big baby and he’s really tall, you know?

“They love each other so much, and then they also have what I call a love-fight relationship,” Ciara said of their three children. “They love to fight, but then they love each other so much at the same time, and Russ gets in the mix sometimes. It’s been so much fun. Honestly, it’s been a blessing. You know, we got triple the love now.”

The couple recently announced a new children’s book about their love for their children called “Why Not You?”

“When Ciara and I first met, one of the first things we talked about is if we could do one thing, what would it be?” Wilson said. “We talked about opening up a school. Well, we did that with the Why Not You Academy, and then we also talked about having a book, and so our goals and dreams are being accomplished as we speak.”

Russell said that he wants both the academy and the book to give children a “sense of hope.”

“We always thought that nothing was impossible, and we always tell them the same thing, so they were a part of our mindset and how we wanted to tell that story…. we want kids to have that inspiration and confidence to succeed,” Wilson said.

“It definitely feels like the beginning of so much more in the space, so it’s super exciting,” Ciara added. “There’s a lot of future leaders out there that we want to empower.”

The academy and the book came from Wilson’s nonprofit, Why Not You Foundation.

The website reads:

Founded by Russell Wilson in 2014, we are a nonprofit dedicated to education, children’s health, and fighting poverty, empowering today’s youth to lead with a why not you attitude.

Our mission is to empower change in the world, one individual at a time, and one child at a time.

Russel and Ciara are open about their Christian faith, and attend church.

Movieguide® previously reported:

Outspoken Christian and NFL quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, Russell Wilson used his platform to point people to God.

The eight-time Pro-Bowler encouraged his millions of followers to find peace in God via his social media accounts.

“Y’all ever go to bed, and you’re tossing and turning and can’t sleep? Your minds running … all these different things whether it’s big or small, whatever it may be, you can’t find that peace and a lot of times we’re trying to find the peace of me, the peace of you, the peace of us,” Wilson, 32, said.

He added: “What the Scripture says in Philippians 4:7, is the peace of God – the peace of God – that transcends all understanding. That’s the kind of peace that I want to have – the peace of God. I challenge us to try to search for that. And a lot of times what happens is that we run our own thoughts, our own ideas – we’re constantly thinking about what we want to do, how we want to fix it, how we want to handle this, and we want to do that.”

Wilson ended on a question, urging his followers to think about Christ.

“How about God, how about Jesus? What would He do? I think the biggest thing that we have to connect to is the promise of God,” Wilson said. “Actually, reading the Scripture and understanding what He wants for us and what He wants for me. I know for me personally, that’s what I’ve been working on. Not trying to find my own peace. I want the peace of God.”
