Christmas comes early! Kelsey Grammer will star in THE CHRISTMAS RING, a Christmas movie from based on a new book by Karen Kingsbury.
Based on Kingsbury’s yet-to-release book of the same name (available Oct. 21), THE CHRISTMAS RING will debut in theaters via Fathom Events on Nov. 6.
VIRGIN RIVER’S Benjamin Hollingsworth and Jana Kramer star alongside Grammer. Tyler Russell will direct, and Natalie Ruffino Wilson will produce.
The movie follows “Kramer as the widow of a U.S. Armed Forces member, looking for her missing family Christmas ring when she meets a charming antiques dealer (Hollingsworth), whose father might unwittingly have the lost heirloom. The story spans from the French countryside of World War II to current day military town Columbus, Georgia.”
Kingsbury described it as “A Christmas love story like those of days gone by. I’ve always loved the Christmas classic movies – WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING and MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, HOLIDAY and YOU’VE GOT MAIL.”
She added, “It’s time to give people an unforgettable Christmas love story in theaters. This is one they will want to watch every year.”
The author announced the book and movie on Instagram earlier this month.
“My NEW BOOK! 🎄💍✨ Read it October 21st! You can pre-order THE CHRISTMAS RING now wherever books are sold,” she shared in the caption. “Autographed copies and a custom look-a-like Christmas ring available only on my website. (link in bio) And … the movie based on this novel, Karen Kingsbury’s @thechristmasringmovie is in theaters only starting November 6th! Starring Jana Kramer! @kramergirl #thechristmasring”
People in the comment section expressed their excitement.
“Can’t wait for both the book and movie! ❤️” one fan said. Another person added, “Excited about this movie!! Equally excited about the book!!”
THE CHRISTMAS RING isn’t the first film from Kingsbury.
Last year, she released SOMEONE LIKE YOU, which Movieguide® gave a +1 content score. Part of the review reads:
Based on a novel by Karen Kingsbury, SOMEONE LIKE YOU is a heartwarming tale about love and reconciliation. Viewers will enjoy clean, uplifting entertainment with a faith-based perspective. The movie holds strongly to family values and the sanctity of life in the womb with prominent themes of forgiveness, grief and love. Characters pray and discuss faith on screen and directly recognize the life of human embryos. SOMEONE LIKE YOU has strong themes of faith and family. MOVIEGUIDE® advises a light caution for younger children due to mature themes of death, grief and in vitro births.
Fans can’t wait to see Kingsbury’s new book come to life on the big screen.
