Christian Contestant on THE VOICE Wows Judges with Coldplay Cover
By Movieguide® Contributor
Britton Moore, a 21-year-old believer from Texas, had all four of THE VOICE judges spinning their chairs after he stunned them with his cover of Coldplay’s “Yellow.”
“When I heard you go into your falsetto, I was like, ‘Okay, I need to coach this guy.’ Because there’s definitely something in your voice that reminded me a little of how I do it,” said Adam Levine, who was the first judge to slam his button. “I just felt an instant connection, and I pushed really early because I thought that, ‘Man, this kid’s gonna be special,’ and I was right. You’re amazing, dude!”
All of the judges fought over him, trying to woo him to their team.
John Legend said, “Singing falsetto is actually really hard in a live setting. I always tell my artists, ‘Your falsetto will betray you when you need it most.’ And it did not betray you, and you sounded so effortless, and you really took some creative leaps, I thought.”
“I think nobody sounds like you on the show, and that will be exciting,” he continued. “And it would be so fun to coach you.”
Country star Kelsea Ballerini tried to use her shared similarities with Moore to level with him.
“Can I call you Britt? Perfect,” she said. “We go way back. You’re from Texas. I’m from Tennessee. Similar. You’re 21, I respect my elders.”

“You can tap into whatever genre you feel like, and that’s what I’m looking for on my team. I know that I’m a country artist, but I want to continue to always evolve and be more than one thing, and I see that in you. I also just feel…I’m on TikTok. Have you guys heard of that?” she joked to the other coaches.
After the fight was over, Moore chose Levine, who bragged to the camera, “Almost half my team is four-chair turns.”
Ahead of his performance, Britton shared on Instagram, “I may or may not be on @nbcthevoice this Monday night 8/7c. 🫣 #thevoice. ‘I will praise God’s name in song, and glorify him with thanksgiving.’ Psalms 69:30.”
Moore recently released a single called “Harmony,” a hopeful song about love. He shared a behind-the-scenes clip of the song on Feb. 2.
“Behind the scenes in the making of ‘Harmony’, and the mastermind @jacoblowerymusic at work! Pure Joy,” he captioned the video. “Galatians 6:4 ’Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.’”
