CHRISTMAS AT GRACELAND Special to Air This Holiday Season
By Movieguide® Contributor
Elvis Presley’s legendary music and life will be honored this Christmas season with a new live music special titled CHRISTMAS IN GRACELAND.
“Christmas at Graceland marks a memorable TV event, as it’s the first holiday special to ever be filmed live from the famed Memphis estate,” PEOPLE shared.
Actress Riley Keough, Presley’s granddaughter, is an executive producer for the special.
“My family and I are elated to open the doors to Graceland in this first-of-its-kind special,” she said. “With intimate musical performances drawing inspiration from my grandfather Elvis’s cherished Christmases in Memphis, viewers will be invited to experience firsthand the magic that is Christmas at Graceland.”
“To celebrate the holidays at Graceland, and be a part of the King’s legacy, is both an honor and absolute dream come true. We thank Riley and her family for allowing all of us to visit her grandfather’s iconic home and share an intimate musical experience that Elvis would’ve truly loved,” Jen Neal, NBC’s executive vice president of live events and specials, added.
After her mother Lisa Marie Presley’s death earlier this year, Keough became the sole trustee of her estate, which includes Graceland.
“The decision came after Priscilla [Presley, Elvis Presley’s ex-wife] filed a petition contesting the ‘authenticity and validity’ of a 2016 amendment Lisa Marie had made, removing her mother and her former business manager as co-trustees,” PEOPLE reported.
Parade shared, “CHRISTMAS AT GRACELAND will be a live music special bringing together the legacy of Elvis Presley and the spirit of the holiday season. The first musical holiday special of its kind televised live from the estate, viewers will also get to see Graceland decorated for the holidays.”
No performers have been announced yet.
CHRISTMAS AT GRACELAND will air on NBC and Peacock on November 29, 10 p.m. ET, right after CHRISTMAS AT ROCKEFELLER CENTER.
