Country Radio host Brooke Taylor asked artists at the CMA Awards last month what they are praying for.

Tiera Kennedy said, “Peace.”

Tyler Hubbard answered, “Direction and discernment.”

Ashley Cooke responded, “I just keep praying, ‘Open the doors that You want to open, and close the doors that You want to close.”

Other responses included health, happiness, blessings for music careers and prayers for family members.

Taylor admitted she was nervous to ask some of country music’s biggest stars that question.

“Before the CMA Awards red carpet last week, I texted my best friend and said, ‘My first question to everyone on the carpet tomorrow night, ‘What are you praying for right now?’ Would that be nuts?’ she replied, ‘Do it,'” Taylor shared in the caption.

“So, I did it,” she added. “Be bold friends. It’s never on accident that you feel prompted by the Holy Spirit to do things that seem ‘crazy.’ Now, let’s all rally around these prayer requests and stand in agreement together.”

Several big names in country music commented how much they loved Taylor’s question.

Anne Wilson wrote, “I love this so much. You are so special and such a gift.”

Chase Matthew, who said in the video, “Honestly, to get my race car finished before this race in December,” commented and wrote, “Gah Lee. I gotta work on my answers.”

Bailey Upchurch, a makeup artist for the CMA Awards, wrote, “I love this so much! I love your heart, you’re just the most beautiful person inside and out!”

The 59th annual CMA Awards aired on Hulu on Nov. 19.

Cody Johnson won the award for Male Artist of the Year. After the ceremony, he thanked God on social media.

“Thank you, Lord for the guidance you’ve given me. Without his hand or grace on my life, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” Johnson wrote.

“When I was a kid, I taped a microphone to the side of my bunk bed and sang everything from @boyziimen to @merlehaggardofficial, trying to imitate everybody in between. To receive this award knowing one of the greatest vocalists of any genre, @chrisstapleton, was also nominated makes it even more meaningful,” he continued.

The Red Clay Strays, who won Vocal Group of the Year, also credited God for the award.

“Obviously, we wanna thank Jesus for puttin’ us on this path. All of our wives, friends, and family for supporting us throughout our careers. Lord knows it wasn’t always easy,” the group wrote in a post.

Prayer is powerful. Praise God for these artists’ willingness to share what they’re turning to Him for.
