Danica McKellar recently revealed who she’s closest to from her time on THE WONDER YEARS series — Dan Lauria.

“We try to see each other. Not so much with Fred [Savage]. We text every now and then, but I see Josh [Saviano] sometimes when I’m in New York, and Dan Lauria for sure,” she said of who she talks to regularly.

“Dan is the one I’m the closest with,” she said. “And then a lot of us were all at a convention, an autograph convention in 2024, and that was really fun. I think it was all of us except for Fred.”

McKellar was on the show from age 12 to 18. Now, she’s 51.

“Fred’s going to turn 50 in July,” she said. “And once he turns 50 — he was the youngest of all of us — at that point…we’ll all be 50-plus. Pretty wild.”

After she finished THE WONDER YEARS, she pursued mathematics and became a successful author.

“When I got done with THE WONDER YEARS, I graduated from high school within a couple months, went to UCLA, got a degree in mathematics, and that’s why I write math books in addition to continuing to be an actress,” she said.

Most of her current movie projects are through Great American Family.

She considers herself “fortunate to be making my movies on Great American Family Channel” and says she doesn’t feel pressure to be “a sex symbol in my 50s.”

“I mean, I still want to put cute dresses on and look attractive and work out and show off my abs here and there or whatever, but it’s not the ideal of Hollywood, and I don’t feel like I need to try to do that,” she explained.

On March 31, McKellar celebrated Saviano’s birthday.

“My, how far we’ve come…We met as pre-teens and now we’re in our 50’s! 😋” she said on Instagram. “…Grateful to have stayed in touch throughout the years. Here’s to the next 50, my friend!!

This year, McKellar was nominated for a Movieguide® Grace Prize® for the Most Inspiring Performance for Streaming for her role in HAVE WE MET THIS CHRISTMAS? which she wrote.

McKellar wrote on her socials at the time, “It’s such an honor to be nominated for a @movieguide award for my performance in my @greatamericanfamily movie HAVE WE MET THIS CHRISTMAS? (You can watch this movie anytime on @greatamericanpureflix!).”

“It was a joy to co-host the awards ceremony two years ago with @trevordonovan, and I’m excited to return to this beautiful event as a nominee and presenter next month,” she continued. “For almost 35 years, @movieguide has been dedicated to shining a light on wholesome programming that uplifts, inspires, and brings people closer to God, healing hearts and souls, and I love being a part of that!!”

It looks like McKellar is still enjoying a busy career!
