Danica McKellar Talks ‘Incredible’ Joy Found In Relationship With God

Danica McKellar is sharing details about her “amazing journey” as her relationship with God continues to strengthen.
“In a nutshell, I’ve always believed in God of some sort, but then I found my relationship with Jesus in a very profound way about a year and a half ago. And it’s been an amazing journey becoming a believer,” the actress explained.
McKellar continued, “The joy that comes with that is incredible! I had never really understood before and I’ve been reading the Bible and am reading the whole thing this year. I’m on track to be finished by Dec. 31.”
As she’s been reading the Bible, “One of the stories that stuck with me the most is from Genesis, and that’s Joseph’s story,” she shared in a video for Great American Community.
“[The] fact that, wherever he was, he rose to the top because people recognized, ‘This guy’s kind of special,'” McKellar said. “I just imagined him doing whatever he needed to do joyfully.”
“He was with God. God was with him. He felt it,” she explained.
Through the story, she learned, “No matter what we’re doing, we can do it with true joy if we’ve connected to our relationship with God.”
McKellar’s latest movie, A ROYAL DATE FOR CHRISTMAS, just premiered on Great American Family.
Romantic movies like this are “everything that I love about acting and about what we put into the world,” the actress said, adding that they promote “human behavior that hopefully will be aspirational.”
“I really believe in it — I believe we can put out really positive things to help people live better lives,” McKellar continued. “It’s not just about an escape, it’s about seeing what human nature can be. And hopefully, inspiring the audience to strive for that.”
A ROYAL DATE FOR CHRISTMAS sees McKellar’s character get a second chance at love.
“My character, a boutique owner/stylist, has given up on love, but that might all be about to change,” she wrote on Instagram. “Do you think she’ll allow a handsome Duke, whose heart also needs mending, to turn her life upside down?”
