David A.R. White Shares Important Details About the Next GOD’S NOT DEAD Installment
By Movieguide® Staff
David A.R. White recently announced the next installment in the GOD’S NOT DEAD FRANCHISE, called WE THE PEOPLE.
“I’m excited to go to film GOD’S NOT DEAD: WE THE PEOPLE. We’re putting together the different elements of the cast, we’re bringing a lot of the cast back, and I’m excited to share this with you,” White said in an Instagram announcement.
White says the project will be reminiscent of Jimmy Stewart’s MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON.
Based on his Instagram announcement, it appears WE THE PEOPLE will begin production in Oklahoma in January.
“I’m very excited about going to Oklahoma in January, actually, for many reasons,” White said. “One, I was actually born in Oklahoma. I don’t know if you know that or not, I was born in Tulsa, my dad pastored a church there, and so we lived there for a short time.”
White also announced that the original GOD’S NOT DEAD 1 and 2 writers, Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman will be back to pen the script.
GOD’S NOT DEAD won the $100,000 Epiphany Prize® for the Most Inspiring Movie of 2014 at the 23rd Annual Movieguide® Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry. It was also selected as one of the Best Movies for Families that year, and White was nominated for the Grace Prize® for his role as Reverend Dave.
“Pure Flix started about nine years ago. We made a lot of smaller movies, and people would always say, ‘Hey, when are you going to make a really big theatrical movie?’ When GOD’S NOT DEAD came around, we thought it was time to make a theatrical movie. You guys all went out to see it, and people all around the world went out to see it, and then it turned out to be a big theatrical movie. So, we say, thank you for that. Thank you, people all over the world, for coming out and supportin’ us,” White said at the Gala.
