To mark its 45th year working with the Make-A-Wish foundation, Disney launched its first-ever Week of Wishes program, which will grant as many wishes to kids with critical illnesses as possible.

“All week long from April 26-May 2, we’re sharing stories of life-changing wishes granted by Disney WishMakers across the company that provide happiness, hope, and inspiration to wish kids and their families. Check back daily for new stories of Disney wishes coming true,” Make-A-Wish shared on its website.

GOOD MORNING AMERICA shared that 6-year-old Justice Brown from Washington state wished to become a Disney princess. It was granted at Disneyland in California.

“I feel so happy,” Brown told GOOD MORNING AMERICA of her wish being fulfilled.

Brown, who is “recovering from a removed brain tumor,” received “the royal treatment with her family,” GMA’s Will Reeve shared in a video on YouTube.

Disney’s longstanding partnership with Make-A-Wish makes kids’ dreams come true “across the entire company.”

“Disney WishMakers across the entire company work with Make-A-Wish to help grant life-changing wishes, including theme park and resort vacations, cruises, shopping sprees, film and TV set visits, talent meet and greets, sports-themed experiences, and more,” the website reads.

Disney shared a video on Instagram account featuring the launch of the Week of Wishes.

“As the world’s largest wish granter for Make-A-Wish, a Disney wish is granted every hour of every day. We are honored that wish kids choose us as their most heartfelt wish,” the caption reads.

“No one else has such a powerful connection with children and families, which is why we take this privilege and responsibility so seriously with Make-A-Wish,” Disney CEO Bob Iger told GMA.

“We’re enormously proud of Disney’s relationship with Make-A-Wish, which dates back nearly 45 years to the first official wish at Disneyland,” he added in a press release. “It’s a privilege to use the power of Disney’s stories and characters to lift children’s spirits when they need it most, and we’re honored to work with Make-A-Wish to grant a Disney wish every hour of every day.”

Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America, continued, “Disney has supported Make-A-Wish from the very beginning, and now 45 years later, we are making a greater impact together than ever before in honor of World Wish Day on April 29. Disney Week of Wishes is a testament to the company’s steadfast commitment to delivering hope and joy when it’s needed most to wish kids and their families around the world.”

Disney and Make-A-Wish have been making the dreams of kids with critical illnesses come true for nearly half a century, giving them hope and joy amid some of life’s most difficult circumstances.
