Disney+ Orders TURNER AND HOOCH Series with Funnyman Josh Peck
By Tess Farrand, Associate Content Editor
Funnyman Josh Peck will play Scott Turner in Disney+’s TURNER AND HOOCH series.
The new venture is inspired by Tom Hanks’ 1989 comedy and will feature 12 episodes.
According to Deadline:
The TV series reboot comes from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix and 20th Century Fox TV, where Nix is under an overall deal.
Like the movie, the hour long series revolves around Scott Turner, who is now a U.S. marshal vs. a police detective in the movie, and his dog. When an ambitious, buttoned-up U.S. marshal (Peck) inherits a big unruly dog, he soon realizes the pet he didn’t want may be the partner he needs.
Peck gained approval of audiences as a child actor when he appeared on THE AMANDA SHOW, MAN KEEBLE’S BIG MOVE and later, DRAKE AND JOSH where he played one of the title characters.
In recent years, Peck guest-starred in FULLER HOUSE alongside actress Candace Cameron Bure.
Peck is also a husband and the father of a toddler.
TURNER AND HOOCH is not the first Disney+ title to include man’s best friend. Movieguide® recognized LADY AND THE TRAMP (2019) and TOGO for 2020 Movieguide® Awards.
You can watch the Movieguide® Awards on Hallmark Drama on Feb. 24 at 11 p.m. EST/PST, and stream it on Hallmark Everywhere apps Feb. 25.
