By Allyson Vannatta, Senior Writer

Disney+’s breakout hit show THE MANDALORIAN will receive an in-depth behind-the-scenes series.

According to The Verge, the eight-episode docuseries will begin streaming on Disney+ May 4, otherwise known as Stars Wars day. A new episode will premiere on the service every Friday.

Jon Favreau, director, writer and producer of THE MANDALORIAN, says DISNEY GALLERY: THE MANDALORIAN will be an “opportunity for fans of the show to take a look inside and get to see a different perspective, and perhaps a greater understanding, of how The Mandalorian came together.”

Favreau will host the docuseries that features interviews with the cast, crew and production team along with never-before-seen footage.

Fans will also learn more about how the prop team brought the infamous creatures in THE MANDOLORIAN to life, and of course that includes the show’s star Baby Yoda.

The new content hopes to fill gaps while audiences wait on a much anticipated Marvel series to hit the streaming service.

The second season of the show finished filming before the industry wide shut down due to the coronavirus and is still set to premiere on Disney+ sometime in October.

The New York Post reports that Rosario Dawson joined the cast to portray a new character, Ahsoka Tano, in the upcoming season.
