PROPERTY BROTHER Drew Scott recently revealed that he almost skipped the event where he ended up meeting his wife, Linda Phan!
“When you’re 32, you’ll be invited to a Toronto Fashion Week event,” he wrote in an Instagram video. “It’s very important that you go.”
In the caption, Scott wrote, “And to think I almost stayed home that night…😅 Happy anniversary, Lindy!”

In a 2016 interview with PEOPLE, Scott recalled their first meeting, where Phan was dressed as the “fashion police” at the event.
“She was wearing a big cop badge and giving out tickets for ‘bad’ fashion,” he said, adding that his first thought was, “Oh, she’s attractive and she had a great personality.”
Phan shared her memory of that day, as well — “My sister and I were backstage looking for pizza and having some water, and Drew came up to me and said ‘Hey, where’d you get that water?’”
“I was so smooth,” Scott joked.
Scott and Phan tied the knot in 2018, welcoming their first child, son Parker, in 2022. Two years later, the couple welcomed daughter Piper.
“It unlocks a side you didn’t know you had,” Scott said of becoming a father in a 2022 interview with Entertainment Tonight. “You think you know. I have this deep love for Linda but then, all of a sudden, that’s the shallow pool. I’m not saying shallow with Linda, I love Linda, but there’s a whole other depth to Linda and my love together with Parker.”
He continued, “It’s amazing just seeing his face when he looks at you, like, once he started focusing in and he locks eyes with you — oh, your heart melts. It’s amazing.”
Scott recently made a new career move — acting! He recently appeared on an episode of the MURDOCH MYSTERIES and made a cameo as himself alongside brother Jonathan in a recent episode of HACKS.
“I’ve admired MURDOCH MYSTERIES for years, and getting to step into this world as a character like Cecil Winchester, who is charming and a little dangerous, was a lot of fun,” he said in a statement about his role in the mystery show.
Scott, an aspiring actor before finding HGTV fame, added, “Acting has always been my first love, and I’m excited for people to see a different side of me.”
Fans of Scott and Phan’s love story are happy he didn’t end up skipping that event after all!
