Erin and Ben Napier Celebrate Anniversary: ‘So Happy God Gave Me You’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Erin Napier is celebrating the day she met husband Ben with a sweet Instagram post.

“The day before. It was unseasonably warm that day, and I missed the way the heater smelled when it kicked on in my dorm,” she captioned a picture of a note Ben had written to her. “I was a sophomore in college. I was 19 years old.”

Ben’s note reads, “December 6th, 2004 would be the last morning I woke up and spent a day without you. I was not looking for you, but I am so happy that God gave me you!”

“On that day, we didn’t know we would someday be married — sharing a last name and a queen size bed,” Erin continued. “The day before you met The One, they were just someone with their own life, their own separate story, and a plan that did not include you. And then, everything changes.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the couple’s love story:

Erin Napier recently shared a sweet selfie of her and her husband, Ben, and reminisced about their time together in college.

“Had lunch at our alma mater today, and took a picture in the spot where we met in the yearbook office,” Erin captioned the selfie. “We were 19 and 21 and had no idea this is what our future would be like. Still my biggest crush.”

She also included a throwback shot of the pair, hard at work on the college yearbook.

“…when the first week of December comes, the part of me that will always be 19 feels the week Ben became mine,” Erin added in another post. “It’s been 19 years, so I’ve now been with Ben for as long as I had been alive when we met. But I still have that urge to listen to the songs we listened to, go to those places we went again, the rituals of our meeting and the beginning of us that became a family. I didn’t actually know @scotsman.co before December 7, 2004 but I wanted to so badly.”

The couple also recently marked their 15th wedding anniversary.

“Sometimes think of all the people in the world, and how the earth is just this tiny dusty speck in the universe,” Erin wrote under photos from their wedding. “And somehow, we managed to find each other. Thank you, Lord, for 15 years in a marriage that feels like home and comfort and assurance and strength and LOVE. We are so lucky to have found each other young and grown up around each other, forming these identities. I love you, @scotsman.co.”

The Napiers just announced that their popular HGTV show HOME TOWN will return for Season 8.

“Say hello season 8, wave goodbye season 7,” Erin captioned a post celebrating the end of Season 7’s production.
