HOME TOWN’s Erin Napier recently on the physical changes she’s gone through as she’s gotten older — and why she welcomes those changes!
“I watched last night’s episode for the first time just like y’all do,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Last night as I watched I noticed the way age is changing me.”
Napier pointed to her “half wavy, half flat” hair, a result of her spending time making breakfast for her daughters, Helen and Mae, before work, rather than spend time on her appearance, as well as her arms “that used to be thinner.”
“And I smiled at the thought of how Mae mutters that I am ‘the softest mommy in the world’ when she pushes her face into me as she falls asleep,” she continued. “I have been on TV for a decade now, and years ago I cared more what the viewer might think. Oh but these days I’m the softest mommy, who makes the pancakes and wrinkles up my forehead worrying if we did enough reading today.”

Napier concluded, “I have decided it’s delicious and comforting to be rebellious about our vanity. We can’t care about everything, mamas!”
The HGTV star recently spoke about her and husband Ben’s decision to homeschool their children.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, Napier wrote, “Homeschool was our dream from the day Helen was born, but work was busy, then Mae was born and we just kept saying ‘someday we will.’”
“After 3 years at an amazing little school, the dream wouldn’t leave me alone and we weren’t ready to let this summer of being together and having fun end,” she continued. “So, here we go. My painting studio became a classical school overnight.”
The Napiers have plenty going on in their work lives, too, but there’s one project the couple will be sitting out on — the upcoming season of their spin-off, HOME TOWN TAKEOVER, which will be filmed in Canada.
“Our production company is Canadian. The people who make our show, they’re passionate about this Canadian takeover,” Napier told Cinemablend. “But, because we are Americans, we are not legally allowed to host the show. We can only be in it as, like, guest stars.”
Ben added that they have found Canadian hosts, saying, “We know who it is and I can say we really like them. It’s another husband and wife team.”
Between juggling family, work and homeschooling, it’s clear Napier has more important things to focus on than aging.
