Among many punters in the NFL who joined “Punts for Purpose,” Atlanta Falcons Bradley Pinion leads the charge.

Pinion and his wife, Kaeleigh, “teamed up with Compassion International, a faith-based organization working to release children from poverty, to create the ‘Punts for Purpose’ initiative. The money raised goes toward helping fund ‘The Fight for First,’ Compassion’s campaign to fund survival centers that support newborns and their mothers around the world,” Sports Spectrum reported.

“I’m ‘Fighting for First’ because I don’t want the first time these children feel Jesus to be when they get to Heaven,” Pinion said in a video promoting the campaign.

Other punters in the league, including Tress Way, Jordy Nelson and Carson Palmer, have joined the campaign. There are a total of 12 punters part of the campaign this season.

For every punt Pinion and Way land inside the 20-yard line, they will each donate $1,000.

“Seeing other punters in the league participate in ‘Punts for Purpose’ is incredible,” the Falcons punter told Compassion. “It is truly humbling and exciting to have other punters join in on something my wife and I are so passionate about, especially since becoming a father myself. I know now, more than ever before, how crucial a baby’s first years can be, and how that can set the foundation for them to thrive the rest of their lives.”

Way added, “Dedicating my punts this season to ‘Punts for Purpose’ allows me to be part of something bigger than myself. We might be opponents on the field, but this week, we’re on the same team, doing what we can on the field to help 25,000 babies and their moms make it to their first birthday.”
