For KING + COUNTRY Song Brings Snoop Dogg to Tears on THE VOICE
By Movieguide® Contributor
An emotional performance on THE VOICE left rapper and coach Snoop Dogg in tears.
Fourteen-year-old Jaukeem Fortson performed for KING + COUNTRY’s “God Only Knows” on a recent episode of THE VOICE.
“God only knows what you’ve been through. God only knows what they say about you. God only knows how it’s killing you. But there’s a kind of love that God only knows,” Fortson sang.
The lyrics clearly moved the judges.
Towards the end of the performance, Snoop stood up with outstretched arms and tears in his eyes.
For KING + COUNTRY posted the video to Instagram, and the performance moved their fans as well.
“I just love seeing Christianity being more and more included into the TV industry 🙌🏼❤️,” one person wrote.
Another person said, “He has a special anointing. I needed to see this today. Snoop was blessed. You know when the Holy Spirit touches you❤️”
This isn’t the first time a VOICE contestant’s music choice sparked a reaction from Snoop. In October, Lauren-Michael Sellers’ rendition of Hillsong’s “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail),” touched the rapper.
“While you were singing, I was seeing Gwen light up, as if God was coming in the building, and I didn’t want to be left out when he came,” Snoop told Sellers.

Snoop reportedly became a Christian in 2018, stating that his Christian mother had been praying for him for a long time.
Crosswalk reported, “According to the artist, his mother told him he had spent [so] much time doing his thing, and now he needed to do His thing.”
On stage at the Stellar Awards in 2018, Snoop told the audience, “If the church was full of saints it wouldn’t be right. So, if you find someone trying to find their way back home, the natural thing to do is to be warm welcoming, open your arms and say ‘Brother, we accept you for who you are and what you’re going through. Come as you are. We know you’ve been doing wrong and you want to get right and we want to help you get right. We’re not gonna’ throw stones on you when you’re trying to get right and walking back into the church house. That’s what’s running people out the church right now as we speak.”
