Former Disney Star ‘Left the Industry to Follow Christ’

In honor of his new song, “Have Your Way,” former child actor and dancer Dana Vaughns celebrated the transformation that God has made in his life.

“Been a star since a child,” he wrote in an Instagram video, “Netflix, Kidzbop, Disney Dudez. Devil thought he had me: Pornography, drugs, greed, fear.”

“But God!!” he continued. “I left the industry to follow Christ. Now I’m back and better than ever!!”

He has been sober for over five years now and makes music that gives God glory.

“Thank you Lord!” he finished. He added in the caption, “If He did it for me, He can do it for you!”

Some of Vaughns’ other songs are “Feelings,” “It Is Done,” “Left Right” and “I Need You.” His newest song is “Die For You.”

This month, Vaughns shared the gospel and taught hip hop to some young people.

“God created everything before He said ‘Let there be light.’ The moment He spoke is when what He intended took form,” Vaughns said. “My life is the same. All the pieces were there but it wasn’t until He spoke over me that my design came together.”

“This moment at @ingredientsdancecompany was so fulfilling. I taught hiphop and immediately taught on the Word of God. Cmon Jesus! Thank you for making my life make sense! GOD IS FAITHFUL!”

On February 11 Vaughns erased all of his secular songs on all streaming platforms. Now, the only songs available are faith-based.

“I’m being obedient to what God told me to do at the end of 2025,” he said. “He told me to erase all my music from before and fully look ahead and not look at the past. This music has given me millions and millions of stream, accolades, songs on Netflix shows, has gained me fans, monthly listeners but God is really doing a new thing in my life and everything has to be aligned, from my personal walk with the Lord to my music, with everything I’m involved in.”

“And I’m so excited about this,” he explained. “It truly is just a testament to my song that’s out right now called ‘Have Your Way,’ saying, ‘Lord, have your way. Do what you want and I think it’s also a perfect a way to announce my next single that is titled ‘Die for You.’”
