Former Disney Star Kevin Quinn Explores God’s Blessings in New Single
By Movieguide® Staff
Former Disney star and A WEEK AWAY actor Kevin Quinn just performed “Blessed,” the first track of his upcoming album “Real Me,” on THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW.
“While creating my song ‘Blessed,’ God was teaching me the importance of recognizing blessings as they’re happening,” Quinn explained on Instagram. “We tend to not really see them when we have them…because we already have them. Why would we need to notice them?”
“But the truth is, we have so many blessings at any given time that we have to notice them. If we don’t, how would be know it’s a blessing?” he added.
Kelly Clarkson shared why she invited Quinn on her show.
“I love that our show can be a vessel for up and coming musicians to find a wider audience. Our next guest came up as an actor, but behind the scenes he was always doing music as well. Even the theme songs, the soundtracks to projects he performed in,” she said.
“Thank you for having me @kellyclarksonshow. This was a blast,” he said.
Quinn previously opened up about what making music means to him. Movieguide® reported:
“What a blessing that I even get to make music about Jesus according to God’s plan, That’s awesome,” Quinn told The Christian Post.
In his upcoming album, “Real Me,” Quinn is “his most authentic, real form as he opens up about his mental health journey for the first time…Kevin further establishes his knack for deeply personal songwriting that strikes a unique balance between growth and vulnerability,” Jubilee Cast reported.
“The biggest theme for this project are life changes for me. The person I was in 2019, 2020 when I wrote my last project was a completely different Kevin,” he explained.
“I did the kind of growing that most people don’t do in a lifetime. I felt very inspired in my mental health journey and had to make music about it,” he added. “Writing these songs felt like therapy. That’s what art is for me. And if you do it right and share it with the world, hopefully people listening feel less alone.”
“Real Me” is available to pre-save and will drop on Jan. 19, 2024.
Movieguide® previously reported on Quinn:
Actor Kevin Quinn revealed that his time on the A WEEK AWAY set rekindled his relationship with Christ.
“Faith is a very important part of my life, if not the most important part of my life,” Quinn told Movieguide®. “But it wasn’t always that way. And there was a struggle, really, in my early 20s, where I had kind of shunned the idea of faith…”
“It sounds so cliche, but you know, with the timing of A WEEK AWAY and the stuff that I was dealing with personally, God really did bring this project at the perfect time and it was a complete reintroduction to my own faith,” Quinn said. “As I look back on this project, I don’t believe in coincidences, not anymore at least, and it was all too coincidental that this project had come into my life when it did. So [my] faith is very important.”
