Christian artist Forrest Frank is celebrating the release of his latest album, Child of God II.

“Completely shocked with the support around this release!!!” he wrote in an Instagram post. “WE DID IT!!!”

Child of God II is the follow-up to Frank’s massively successful Child of God, which topped the Billboard charts for almost 18 weeks. The album was also nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album at this year’s Grammy Awards.

A fan-favorite track on Child of God II is “Encore,” a prelude that features a conversation between Frank and his grandfather.

“Well, I’m so delighted, I can’t express,” Frank’s grandfather said on the track. “God has given you special job, and we’re just delighted — we’re more so delighted that God has selected you to reach out to this younger generation.”

He then prays for his grandson: “Father, I’ve been praying that Forrest would experience the Book of Acts and that there will be just unbelievable movement of your Spirit upon these people. First of all, to bring them to an encounter of Jesus, to be saved. Father, we would not object if you do some amazing [healing work] and all kinds of interesting things that are described in the Book of Acts. So we just pray your anointing, double anointing on Forrest…”

The album also includes Frank’s latest singles, “Your Way’s Better,” “Drop!,” “Nothing Else,” ”Celebration,” “No L’s” and “Amen.” The artist brought in some big-name collaborators as well: Thomas Rhett, Nathan Davis Jr. and Limoblaze.

In an interview with Crosswalk, Frank talked about his music, saying, “In the peace and quiet of my home, I just started writing these worship songs, and I felt like God was telling me to put one of them out. And so I did, and it just took off.”

“The very first video that I filmed of it just went completely viral,” he continued. “And so I took another video of it, and that one went viral…It wasn’t like I was a genius or did anything. I just kind of took a swing, and God completely blessed it, and it was completely beyond me.”

In a conversation with GRAMMY.com, Forrest Frank explained, “When I was growing up, I didn’t necessarily have cool Christian music to listen to. If I was going to the gym or if I was at the beach, it seemed like there weren’t really any Christian songs that would fit those facets of life…So, I aspired to make Christian music that I think is cool. I’m just making it the way that I love it. I think that authenticity is what kids resonate with.”

Fans are definitely resonating with Frank’s Child of God II — and his faith-filled message.
