Actor and NASCAR driver Frankie Muniz can’t wait to be home with his family.

“So ready to be home with my family,” he wrote in a May 18 Instagram post along with a photo of his wife and son. “Haven’t been in my house basically since March 8th or something and I’m ready to be the husband and father they deserve.”

Two days later, Muniz was home and shared pictures of a hike he and his son, Mauz Mosley, took together.

“Morning hike with my best friend,” he wrote.

As of now, Frankie Muniz sits 29th in the Craftsman Truck Series. He’s had some unfortunate situations happen in a few of his races, which have caused him to have some results he hadn’t expected.

Last week, Muniz ended up spinning off the track after his right front tire blew. The incident would be Muniz’s fourth “did not finish” of the season. In an interview with Frontstretch, the driver expressed his frustrations.

“Just right front blew. I just, I cannot, I can’t catch a break,” he said. “You know what I mean? Let me wreck dudes, let me wreck myself, let me feel like I did something wrong but I — it’s hard to keep coming. And like, it’s not my team, it’s none us, it’s out of our control, and things just keep happening, and it’s really — it’s tough to stay motivated.”

Muniz continued: “Honestly, I’ve got so much going on right now, and I’m like, man, give me a win. Like a win, like, feeling like we finished the race, I thought we were racing good and you know, doing alright. Just out of my control again. I’m over it, to be honest.”

Despite the frustration and poor results, Frankie Muniz isn’t ready to give up.

“Flying to Kansas from Vancouver and I’m so excited to get back in the race car this weekend. Last week in Texas we showed that we have speed before we blew the right front tire with 20 to go. But now I’m all smiles because I’m feeling really good and ready to battle!” Muniz wrote in a post on Instagram last week.

In fact, his son, who was born in 2021, inspired him to commit to racing. He recalled after Mauz was born, “I literally was holding him, my son, in the hospital bed, and I remember thinking, ‘Who is he going to grow up thinking that I am?'”

Frankie Muniz continued, “Sure, I could say, ‘Here’s what Daddy used to do, Daddy used to be an actor, Daddy used to do that.’ But I wanted him to see me working really hard for something, striving for something, and all the ups and downs that come with it. And I really felt like I had unfinished business in the racing world.”

Along with racing, the actor just wrapped filming the MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE reboot for Disney.

“This experience was straight-up incredible — like stepping back into Malcolm’s wild world but with all the love and chaos cranked to 11,” he wrote on Instagram. “Reuniting with the cast, getting to know some new characters, laughing till it hurt, and making new memories on set felt like a dream I didn’t want to wake up from.”

Though his NASCAR season is off to a rough start, Muniz’s family continues to inspire him to work even harder.
