Great American Pure Flix Keeps ‘Christ In Christmas’

Great American Pure Flix Keeps ‘Christ In Christmas’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Great American Pure Flix is already in the Christmas spirit with new movies releasing and a focus on keeping Christ at the center of holiday celebrations.

“This really is the most wonderful time of the year, and an extra-special time for families and friends,” Bill Abbott, president and CEO of Great American Media, said in a statement about the network’s holiday plans. “We are excited to begin spreading the joy of Christmas to our Great American Pure Flix members with uplifting and inspiring movies and programs in this season.”

Great American Pure Flix pledged to “celebrate the impact of great stories and themes” through their Christmas movies, which will include stars like Candace Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin, Jen Lilley, and Trevor Donovan.

Part of that celebration includes a focus on different parts of the holiday each week, from “Getting in the Spirit” to “Celebrate Keeping Christ in Christmas.”

“This Christmas, Great American Family will premiere 21 new Christmas movies during its annual Great American Christmas festivities,” the network wrote in a website post.

They also revealed some details about upcoming movies A ROYAL CHRISTMAS ROMANCE, BRINGING CHRISTMAS HOME and BLESSINGS OF CHRISTMAS.

“During her boutique’s busiest season, my character Bella is hired to be a newly single Duke’s stylist and official plus one the week leading up to Christmas,” McKellar said about A ROYAL CHRISTMAS ROMANCE. “She takes the job against her better judgment—this is a crucial time for her business. But there’s something about Duke’s unexpectedly tender heart that makes his request irresistible to her.”

Great American Family and Pure Flix merged earlier this year.

“Since the merger with Pure Flix, faith movies have been among the top-rated content on Great American Family, and we feel strongly that the faith category is big enough to have a channel fully dedicated to the genre,” Abbott explained. “We are committed to listening to our viewers and are dedicated to creating quality faith and family content that inspires and uplifts.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the merger:

Great American Media has relaunched its streaming platform as Great American Pure Flix, following the network’s merger with Sony’s Pure Flix in June.

“Great American Pure Flix fits seamlessly with the Great American Media family,” said Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media. “Our mission is to provide families with quality entertainment that celebrates faith, family, and hometown values wherever and however they enjoy watching.”

Great American Pure Flix is now “the 24/7 companion to Great American Family with uplifting films and series.”
