The Super Bowl just got a whole lot cuter.
The Great American Family Network has announced that the GREAT AMERICAN RESCUE BOWL will return in 2025.
“The third annual event will be broadcast on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 9, 2025) in partnership with the North Shore Animal League America, the world’s largest no-kill rescue and adoption organization,” Parade reported.
The GREAT AMERICAN RESCUE BOWL is focused on helping puppies and kittens find their forever homes.
“The plight of animal homelessness continues to be pervasive throughout the country. This showcase for adorable kittens, puppies, cats and dogs is a proven difference maker in helping pets find their forever home,” a synopsis of the event reads.
“Saving pet lives has been a personal mission of mine for more than a decade and North Shore Animal League America is a profound partner in saving as many homeless pets as possible each year,” CEO and President of Great American Media, Bill Abbott, said. “I am always grateful to showcase these cuddly animals available for adoption because every life saved brings us one step closer to emptying the shelters forever.”
“North Shore Animal League America is truly grateful to Great American Media for their continued commitment to shining a light on the plight of homeless animals,” Joanne Yohannan, SVP, Operations of North Shore Animal League America, stated. “Great American Rescue Bowl gives voice to the voiceless by telling the compelling stories of our lifesaving work with passion, humor and lots of cuteness all while encouraging adoption.”
The best part of the GREAT AMERICAN RESCUE BOWL is that all the kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs “are available for adoption although some may have already found their forever homes by the time the special airs.”
The third annual GREAT AMERICAN RESCUE BOWL airs Feb. 9, 2025, at 12 p.m. ET.
Movieguide® previously reported on the 2023 event:
Excitement is building for animal lovers everywhere in anticipation for the PUPPY BOWL XIX and GREAT AMERICAN RESCUE BOWL airing this Sunday.
PUPPY BOWL XIX will happen this Sunday, marking the event’s nineteenth year raising awareness about the importance of pet adoption.
The event will feature 122 puppies from 67 shelters and rescues across America.
“There’s just so many animals in need right now, and hopefully this will get people more interested in rescuing and adopting,” Kiara Cnota, Lead Foster Coordinator at One Tail at a Time shared. Two dogs from One Tail at a Time will be competing in the Puppy Bowl.
“We have a dog for everyone,” Cnota continued. “Just let us know what you’re looking for, and hopefully we can find you a match.”
