Guy Fieri included some heartwarming nods to his family in the set of his new show, FLAVORTOWN FOOD FIGHT.

“Welcome to Flavortown!” the 58-year-old Food Network host exclaimed on Instagram before new series premiere. “Built in the same studio where we shoot GUY’S GROCERY GAMES and TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS!”

The set required 200 carpenters, painters, designers and producers. Fieri showed fans the set, complete with food carts, a mom and pop shop, a corner restaurant, a high-end restaurant and his famous Triple D Camero.

There’s a restaurant called Loretta’s Diner, a tribute to his wife Laurie, and Chez Penny, named for his mom. Jamps’ Coffee Corner is named after his dad.

He says the set is full of humor and charm.

“Everybody’s got a sense of humor. Everybody’s got a little wild side to them, and that’s what comes out,” he said. “…Welcome to Flavortown.”

The series will star rising chefs in a multi-round elimination competition. Each episode will feature three chefs who choose their own food adventure. Each episode’s winner has the chance to earn up to $20,000 and a chance to return and compete the following week.

Last month Fieri said, “For the first time in television history, we’re opening the gates of Flavortown and inviting some of America’s most talented chefs to showcase their skills in a never-ending list of off-the-hook restaurants that you’ll only find here. We’ve been building out this universe for years, and I’m stoked to finally invite everybody in!”

His son, Hunter, will join him on the show.

“Someone has got to be the counter balance or the foil,” he said. “And Hunter is, one, my best friend, and, two, my kid, and three, a really good, aware co-host. He gets it. He knows television, he understands what we need, what we got to do.”

“What Hunter pulls off and what he does when he creates is really, it’s Hunter. It’s Hunter’s, whimsical, funny, creative side. And that’s his part of the deal and it’s my favorite thing,” he said.

His other son, Ryder, and his wife will make a cameo on show, which Fieri says is his favorite part, without going into detail.

On Feb. 23, he said, “The chefs are training for it now. They’re getting ready for it. They’re preparing themselves like a culinary Olympian and what’s coming is it’s going to rock your world.”

The show premieres on Wednesday, March 4, at 9/8c and will be available to stream the next day on HBO Max and Discovery+.
