Country star Ella Langley says a local church’s haunted house led to her getting “saved.”
“They do it around Halloween,” she said while appearing on “This Past Weekend W/ Theo Von.” “It’s like a haunted house for Christians, I guess. Very scary. I remember our youth group took us. You get in there, and it’s like this car crash scene, and it’s pretty much like convincing you…that you could die the second you walk out of here, so you better settle up. You better get saved.”
Langley said the haunted house experience “affected me so bad” that when her group was asked if anyone wanted to talk, she raised her hand and “got saved again.”
The “Choosin’ Texas” singer has previously spoken about her Christian faith. Langley recently posted an Instagram story detailing her “drastic” faith journey.

“Even though I’ve been a believer in Christ my whole life, my relationship with Him has changed drastically over the last year,” she wrote. “I started to have ‘faith.’ I started to view the days we have been given as a gift instead of a chore.”
Langley continued, “I am so grateful for a God who leads with love and compassion. Thank you Jesus for giving me a way to spend eternity with You.”
In another interview on THE SCOTTY KAY SHOW, the singer recalled a moment when faith saw her through a tough time. After receiving nominations for ACM Awards, Langley “could not catch my breath” and began having a panic attack.
After she had gathered herself a bit, Langley ended up in an Uber and had a spiritual experience.
“I felt Him talking to me. I heard Him talking to me,” she said. “[The Uber driver] looks at me in the rear view mirror, has no idea the moment I’m having, in the back seat. Looks at me in the eyes and says, ‘God’s got you.’ What? She said, ‘God’s got you, I went through something early in my life, I lost my baby son and I thought that was gonna kill me but God had me the whole entire time and I just felt called to tell you that right now.’”
Langley continued, “I just cried like a little kid. For the first time in my life, I accepted that presence that has been there the whole time.”
Langley’s commitment to her faith has kept her grounded as she navigates her burgeoning musical career.
