HGTV star Hilary Farr’s new show TOUGH LOVE WITH HILARY FARR recently premiered its second season on the home improvement network.

“Renowned designer Hilary Farr is challenged by families whose dysfunctional houses are putting a strain on their relationships. Hilary uses creative design solutions with a dash of tough love to renovate their spaces and get these families back on track,” HGTV shared about the show.

Each episode of TOUGH LOVE is an hour long, and Farr acts as both “a designer and a life coach,” according to Yahoo Life.

In the first episode, titled BACHELOR PAD, BE GONE!, “Alex and Parker share a disjointed home with multiple underused rooms,” according to HGTV. “Hilary guts the place and creates a new kitchen, separate offices and an open living space with a layout that allows for both individual passions and time together as a family.”

“Hilary draws people in with her charismatic personality and tell it like it is attitude,” said Loren Ruch, group senior vice president, programming & development, HGTV. “Her clients, as well as millions of her television fans, look to her straightforward and unfiltered guidance and sophisticated design sense for inspiration and results.”

Upcoming episodes will feature a family who moved from Ukraine to the United States, where Farr will add extra bedrooms and a mother-in-law suite.

The show will have 10 episodes and can be watched on Mondays on HGTV at 9 p.m. ET or anytime on MAX.

The British-Canadian designer is best known for the HGTV show LOVE IT OR LIST IT, which has aired since 2008.

“While real estate agent [David] Visentin walks homeowners through potential new homes that might inspire them to ‘list it,’ Farr redesigns their current abode to try to transform it into a space that the owners will love—and live with for the foreseeable future,” Yahoo reported about LOVE IT OR LIST IT.
