Jenny Marrs Finds Strength in This Bible Story: God ‘Will Equip You’

FIXER TO FABULOUS star Jenny Marrs took to Instagram to share a Bible story that encouraged her recently.
“I think we can all agree that the world feels extra heavy and that heaviness can quickly seep into our souls,” she captioned an Instagram post. “This morning, I was led to one of my favorite stories in scripture: the story of Gideon.”
The post shows a video of a beautiful field of flowers next to a peaceful stream.
Marrs shared Judges 6:14, which reads, “Go with the strength you have…”
“Thank you, Jesus, for including all of these flawed humans in your Word,” she continued. “Because, if Gideon can tell God that he isn’t fit for the task in which an angel of the Lord told him about face-to-face (I mean, come on! How can you say ‘no’ straight to the face of the Lord?!), then I certainly can bring my own ‘Lord, you chose the wrong person’ prayers to Him.”
“That’s it. That’s all He’s asking of any of us, isn’t it? Just go forth and do the thing He’s asking you to do. Shine His light into the dark world. Even in your exhaustion. Because, always, He’ll use your weakness to display His power,” Marrs wrote.
“As I write this, I’m praying for whomever is reading. May you rest in the full assurance of God’s love today.”
She encouraged her followers to trust that God is with them and “will equip you for whatever calling He has for you.”
“Shine His light and His love into the darkness with tenacity and bravery,” Marrs added. “Don’t shrink back from what He’s asking of you. No matter how overwhelming or possibly underwhelming (wiping little bottoms and runny noses may feel underwhelming today, but, it’s NOT.”
“It’s Kingdom-building stuff, my friend),” she concluded. “Just step into the next thing with confidence. He is right there beside you.”
Marrs and her husband Dave found fame through their HGTV shows. They own a construction company called Marrs Developing and have been renovating homes for the past 20 years.

The couple continues to share their work and life in a way that both encourages and engages their fans.

Jenny Marrs is encouraging others to “hold onto hope” amid dark times.
“There’s been a lot of sorrow in the world the past few days,” she wrote in a recent Instagram post. “I’ve been watching and praying and grieving for the families suffering in Israel. And, I’ve been holding one of our own crew members so close in prayer as we stand by him tangibly. He laid his wife to rest yesterday. A beautiful, young momma tragically gone from this earth way too soon.”
She continued, “I haven’t had any words to fill these squares. I still don’t. I just know that this world is not our home. And, I know that there is so much that I’ll never understand this side of Eternity. And, mostly, I know that there is always a reason to hold onto hope. Always.”
