ICE AGE 6 Officially in the Works

ICE AGE 6 is officially in the works!
“Disney and 20th Century Animation announced Friday at D23 Brazil that ICE AGE 6 is happening,” Deadline reported. “The sixthquel will get a theatrical release.”
Original cast members Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary and Simon Pegg are all set to return.
Romano, Latifah and Leguizamo teamed up for an Instagram video announcement, telling the world, “The herd is back, baby!”
Excited fans filled the video’s comment section, with one writing, “OMG my inner child self is screaming with joy!! I CANT WAIIIT.”
“This franchise made my childhood and I’m so excited for this,” someone else said.
Another wrote, “As someone who was born in the 2000s, 2026 is gonna be a great year for my childhood. SHREK 5, ICE AGE 6, and TOY STORY 5 in the same year.”
While ICE AGE 6’s release date has not been confirmed, SHREK 5 and TOY STORY 5 will be coming to theaters in 2026.

It’s no surprise the studios want to bring the ICE AGE franchise back. The movies are typically high-earners, with the last installment, ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE, “grossing $408.5 million globally,” per Variety.

ICE AGE 6 will be the first movie made in the franchise since Disney purchased Blue Sky Studios, the original creator of the movies.
“Blue Sky was founded in 1987 by Wedge, Michael Ferraro, Carl Ludwig, Alison Brown, David Brown and Eugene Troubetzkoy,” Deadline wrote. “The studio’s final film under Disney was SPIES IN DISGUISE, which made just under $172M.”
