Netflix’s LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE adaptation is almost here, and we just got another trailer.
“Laura is embracing this next chapter with her family, which includes Mary (Skywalker Hughes), Charles (Luke Bracey), and Caroline (Crosby Fitzgerald),” TV Insider reported alongside some new stills they exclusively debuted. “Mary and Laura’s parents can be seen sweetly staring into each other’s eyes on the front doorstep of their home. They’ve left the life they knew behind to start anew, and they’ll be able to face anything with each other’s support.”
In the new trailer, Laura says, “Independence is a funny name for a town like this. The truth is, none of us can make it alone here. The prairie is so big, and we’re so small. We need help from each other. Independence isn’t just a way of life. It’s a place to come together.”

Netflix announced it would be adapting Laura Ingalls Wilder’s classic books last year.
Star Alice Halsey, who plays Laura, said at the time, “I love all of the Little House books so much, and I’m so excited and grateful to get to bring Laura to life! Thank you so much to the Little House creative team for putting your faith in me, and to my amazing team Pamela Fisher @thepamfisher at LBI and Domina Holbeck @domina100 and Sloane Fitzgerald @sloanfitz at @cesdtalent!”
Netflix said that Wilder’s Little House books were originally written and published in the 1930s.
“…Wilder’s stories were adapted into the hit TV series LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE, which ran for nearly a decade in the 1970s and into the ’80s. Now a new generation will have its own version with Netflix’s reimagining of the treasured novels,” Tudum wrote.
The series from the ’70s starred Michael Landon, Karen Grassle, Melissa Gilbert, and Melissa Sue Anderson. While fans still love that adaptation, executive producer Rebecca Sonnenshine called the Netflix version a “fresh adaptation” that “offers a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.”
“I am absolutely thrilled with the brilliant cast we have assembled,” Sonnenshine said. “Each one of them brings something special to the LITTLE HOUSE universe and will help make this story come alive for a whole new generation.”
Catch the Ingalls family’s life on the prairie on Netflix starting July 9. It’s already been renewed for a second season.
