Jamie Foxx Says ‘Jesus Is the Foundation’

By Movieguide® Staff

Actor Jamie Foxx recently referenced his Baptist faith in an interview when fellow Hollywood star, Joseph Gordon-Levitt asked if he was a vegan.

“I am Baptist, I have been Baptist my whole life,” Foxx said. “To me Jesus is the foundation. Nothing against other vegans, I don’t know where they go as far as heaven and hell is concerned but I know where I’m going as far as heaven is concerned.”

The SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME star then proceeded to recite the books of the Old Testament from memory, noting that their purpose is to point to Jesus.

“It’s about Jesus,” he said.

While Foxx was partly joking in his response to Gordon-Levitt, Foxx clearly has knowledge of the Bible.

Join Movieguide® in praying for Foxx, that he would begin to live out his faith in the movies that chooses.

Movieguide® previously reported on Foxx’s recent health scare:

Jamie Foxx suffered a medical complication on April 11th and remains in the hospital.

Charles E. Alston who is known as, Charlie Mack, took to his Instagram to ask for prayers for his dear friend, Foxx.

“I need you all to constantly keep our beloved brotha @iamjamiefoxx up whom we all [love] & care for dearly in our Hearts, Minds & Prayers!!!! We need you back Bro. As I always state a true champion isn’t the one that wins, it’s the one that meets & overcomes adversity,” he wrote.

He added, “You’re test becomes your testimony!! We all can’t wait to receive you back home to celebrate, laugh with and applaud you.”

Finally, he concluded the caption with a prayer, “I come before you yet once again humbly asking please heal & restore our brotha @iamjamiefoxx stronger & better than before!!! I have absolutely no shame in asking pleading & begging for your merciful healing powers over our brotha now in your time not ours for miracle. I must & will thank you in advance your gracious humble servant.”

Foxx’s daughter Corinne also posted on her Instagram account, “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
