Jen Lilley Relaunches Camp Christmas for GAF, Hallmark Stars
By Movieguide® Contributor
Lacey Chabert, Wes Brown, and Andrew Walker are among some of the Hallmark Channel stars that have signed on to be a part of Jen Lilley’s Camp Christmas.
Camp Christmas will be an online summer camp for viewers who love Christmas rom com’s and the summer camp will be hosted in an effort to raise money for kids in need.
Jen Lilley shared on her Instagram a video promoting the summer camp.
Nikki DeLoach made the video and said, “Hey everybody, please come and join us for Christmas in July! Sponsored and hosted by our girl, Jen Lilley. See you there!”
The post included the link to register as well.
Lilley co-founded Christmas Is Not Cancelled, which hosts Camp Christmas.
According to the website:
After spending years involved in the non profit sector, Jen as an ambassador for children’s causes and Ale as a head of PR and marketing for a major New York based non-profit, they both realized they could do more to help causes. Non-profits have limited budgets and lots to accomplish. It’s from this idea that “Christmas Is Not Cancelled” came about.
Over the last four years, Christmas is Not Cancelled has become a series of giving campaigns featuring family friendly celebrities and community building.
We are an online community of world changers. We are celebrities, influencers, fans, Christmas lovers and brands coming together to create a greater good. Our goal is to spread Christmas cheer all year long and create a healthy space within the online community that promotes giving, kindness and enters you to win awesome prizes as we support our common goal of helping children in need.
Movieguide® recently reported on last year’s Camp Christmas:
Former Movieguide® Awards Gala Host Jen Lilley will host Christmas in July on GAC Family, beginning July 2.
“So honored to be hosting Great American Christmas in July this summer to bring you holiday cheer all year long and remind you that Christmas Is NotCancelled,” Lilley posted to Instagram. “Camp Christmas In July is teaming up with @gactv and @sprinklepop.shop to host a “flour” power bake-a-thon event that pairs movies with giving back to kids in #fostercare.”
According to Variety, the event will kick off on July 2 and will feature Christmas movies 24/7, including GAC’s original Christmas movies that first aired last year, as well as first looks at some of their upcoming features.
Wholesome Christmas movies are central to the GAC Family channel DNA, compared to other channels that have chosen to include antibiblical romances in their movie lineup. Several stars, including Lilley, Candace Cameron Bure, and Trevor Donovan, have opted to make their movies with GAC instead.
Bill Abbott, president of GAC Media, previously vowed to keep the channel “relentlessly family-friendly.”
“There’s so much need for family content in the market and in this space,” Abbott said. “It’s pretty scary, quite frankly, the amount of content that’s out there, the vast majority of it is salacious and is not appropriate for any member of the family, really. From my point of view, it’s pretty easy, open space, and something I really am passionate about.”
