Kirk Cameron Celebrates Patriot Award Win: ‘Providence Is Shining on Us’

Kirk Cameron is celebrating his “Culture Warrior” Patriot Award win and encouraging followers to “work together to influence and reshape America.”

“I feel incredibly humbled to have received the ‘Culture Warrior’ patriot award from @foxnation,” he captioned an Instagram post. “I see these next four years as four of the greatest of our lives to work together to influence and reshape America for the good and the godly.

Cameron continued, “Get ready, brothers and sisters- I believe all Heaven is about to break loose. Our hopeful view for the future is gaining momentum! The light of Providence is shining on us, the wind is at our backs and momentum is with us. Eyes are open and ears are hearing.”

“Now is the time for us to humble ourselves, turn from wicked ways (2 Corinthians 7:14), and get to work running the plays in our national playbook — the Bible — diligently applying its essential principals to our families, schools, churches, communities and government. Our hopeful view of the future is gaining momentum!” his post concluded.

Cameron’s “Culture Warrior” Award was in recognition of his work with children’s media, from his collection of books to his new show, ADVENTURES WITH IGGY AND MR. KIRK.

“I have a heart full of gratitude just to be counted together with you this evening for this important night of honoring people all over this country, these unsung heroes who are doing such important work,” he said in his acceptance speech. “I think we all know that in order to shape the future, we have to get to the hearts and minds of our children and to the grandchildren.”

Cameron spoke about the need for “wholesome” kids’ content in an interview with Fox News.

“[Parents] want wholesome values and morals to be taught to their kids by people that they trust,” he explained. “And that’s why I’m so excited about [ADVENTURES WITH IGGY AND MR. KIRK]. Because it gets to the heart of the kinds of values parents are trying to teach their kids at home and this show is going to reinforce those values while keeping the ‘wow’ factor of the entertainment.”
