Kirk Cameron Drops Trailer for New Family-Friendly Kids Show

By Movieguide® Contributor

Actor Kirk Cameron wants to bring Christian content to children that parents can trust, and he’s doing just that through his latest project ADVENTURES WITH IGGY AND MR. KIRK.

“Parents today are searching for kids’ entertainment they can trust — shows that align with their values and capture their children’s attention in a meaningful way,” Cameron told CBN News. “ADVENTURES WITH IGGY AND MR. KIRK does just that, blending fun and purpose into a series the whole family will want to watch together…I can’t wait for families to watch the full episodes but, for now, the trailer will give them a taste of the adventure that’s in store!’”

“Every day, our children are bombarded with television and media content that attacks their morals and undermines the values we try to instill in them,” Cameron continued, sharing what propelled him to create the show. “Most mainstream American entertainment actively opposes everything we believe in as Christians. We’ve seen God entirely removed from Hollywood. In recent years, we’ve gotten glimpses into just how rotten to the core the entertainment industry has become.”

“As a parent and a soon-to-be grandparent, the state of children’s entertainment leaves me very concerned about what we’re teaching the next generation and what kind of world we’re leaving behind for them…That’s why I am making ADVENTURES WITH IGGY AND MR. KIRK, a new children’s show that brings God back into the forefront of children’s entertainment,” he explained. “It will be like a modern-day MR. ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD, entertaining children while developing their character in every episode. And, the show will be a tool that we can use to reach millions of children across America and spread the Gospel.”

The actor’s partnership with Brave Books will make the show possible.

“As parents, we have been forced to settle for mindless entertainment or just downright harmful content. It’s time we had a show for our children that not only sparked their imagination and engaged them, but also built their character and strengthened their worldview while doing so,” said Brave Books CEO Trent Talbot.
