Kirk Cameron Reclaims the Rainbow: ‘Symbol of Our Faith’

Kirk Cameron and Pastor Rex Holt are reflecting on the humility that a rainbow symbolizes.
“We need to be truly humble people,” Holt said while appearing on Cameron’s AMERICAN CAMPFIRE REVIVAL. “We need to be humble before the Lord, and not proud.”
Cameron added, “No mother prays that her son will grow up to be a proud person, or ‘I’m hoping that my husband will just be more filled with pride when he comes home today’ — no, she wants humility!”
“Be humble of heart,” he continued. “That is the prerequisite for turning the world upside down, beginning heaven to earth is, we have to have a new heart that is humble. And there’s nothing that should humble us more than the rainbow.”
Holt shared what he is reminded of every time he sees a rainbow: “Under Noah, God destroyed the earth with a flood, but after He saved Noah and his family, He made a promise to Noah and to all humanity, to all mankind, all generations after Noah, that He would never destroy the earth again.”
“The rainbow was an emblem of war,” he explained. “It was a war bow…and so, if you look at any rainbow, it’s always aimed and drawn towards heaven. God Himself was saying, ‘I’m going to be the object of My own wrath against sin. I’m going to pour out my wrath and judge sin, and I’m going to do it in the person of Me and the person of My son, Jesus Christ.”
Holt emphasized that the rainbow accompanies “[God’s] throne as a reminder that this is God’s covenant,” adding, “The rainbow is a precious symbol of our faith.”
Cameron and Holt have previously spoken about the importance of staying humble.

Cameron is currently preparing for the release of his new children’s show, ADVENTURES WITH IGGY AND MR. KIRK.
“Parents today are searching for kids’ entertainment they can trust — shows that align with their values and capture their children’s attention in a meaningful way,” Cameron said in a statement about the show. “ADVENTURES WITH IGGY AND MR. KIRK does just that, blending fun and purpose into a series the whole family will want to watch together.”
The first trailer for the show was just released. Cameron posted it on Instagram, writing, “This is the show you’ve been waiting for — faith, fun, and values all wrapped into one. Watch it, share it, and spread the word! Together, let’s create the culture we want to see for the next generation.”
