This Actor’s Powerful Illustration Explains Why You Can Have Faith

Kirk Cameron is encouraging us to put our faith in God in a new podcast episode.
“Faith is mysterious for some people,” he explained in an episode of “American Campfire Revival.” “But the same person who says, ‘I just have trouble having faith in God,’ is often the same person who has no problem getting onto an airplane.”
Cameron continued, “Even though you’ve never met the pilot, likely you’ve not even seen the pilot, and yet [you’re] entrusting your life to a pilot you’ve likely never seen. You’ve got faith in that pilot — so much so that you’re willing to put your life in their hands. And past experience has shown you that you can get on that airplane, and you’re confident that you’re going to land at your destination.”
“Faith in God is similar in that way. I have reason to trust in the faithfulness of God because He’s proven Himself to be faithful to me,” he concluded.
Cameron posted a clip from the episode to Instagram, with a caption asking followers, “Every day, every human puts their faith in someone or something. Where will you put yours?”
He also cited Hebrews 11:6 — “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
Cameron is currently getting ready for the publication of his latest book, “Born To Be Brave,” which is set to be published in October.
“I really want readers to feel equipped to overcome our opponents and start seeing culture as something we are called to create,” he told Fox News.
Cameron added that he hopes “Born To Be Brave” will “encourage you to boldly engage friends, family and your community with gospel truths that positively transform all of society.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Cameron’s thoughts on revival:
Actor Kirk Cameron explained why he has hope for America’s future despite the spiritual bankruptcy that plagues the country and why he believes the U.S. is set up for a Christian revival.
“Everywhere I go, I find that people within the family of faith are feeling more and more discouraged, inching themselves toward the cliff of despair and hopelessness,” Cameron said. “Some even believe that it is written in heaven that things will only get inevitably worse, and they’ll point to the book of Revelation or Daniel and say that there’s absolutely nothing we can do or even should do.”
“In their minds, things are not falling apart because of apathy or complacency or sin. They’re falling into place,” he continued. “I think that’s completely backwards, and I think the hopelessness is totally misplaced.”
“I think that when all authority, both in heaven and on earth, was given to our Savior, that means there’s zero authority left the forces of evil and darkness. They can try, but it’s a losing battle, and we’re on the winning team,” he added. “All of the chaos and all of the corruption that feels to you and me like the perfect storm that’s coming upon our children and our grandchildren is really just a white cap on the top edge of a tsunami wave of the goodness and faithfulness of God that is sweeping across the face of the Earth and has been on the move for the last 2,000 years, ever since Jesus passed from death to life, rose from the grave and sent the Holy Spirit of God into your heart and into mine.”
