Lara Silva Celebrates DIVINE INFLUENCER’s Movieguide® Award Win: ‘Grateful to God’

By Movieguide® Contributor

DIVINE INFLUENCER star Lara Silva is sharing her excitement after her movie won Movieguide®’s Epiphany Prize® for Most Inspiring TV or Streaming Movie or Program at this year’s Movieguide® Awards.

“When I found my faith was when I found my passion for acting, and I know that God placed that in my heart, and it lay doormat until He was ready for me to feel it and see it when I started seeking Him,” Silva told Movieguide®.

“So, I cannot tell my story of how I got into acting without telling my story about God and finding Him and how it all clicked for me…I told Him that I would share my story, my testimony when I got here, and here I am. So, thank you, God,” she added.

Following Thursday’s broadcast of the show, Silva shared what the award meant to her.

“So thrilled to have attended my first award show at the @movieguide awards and an honor that our film DIVINE INFLUENCER received the Epiphany award for TV film 🌟 a moment I’ll cherish forever!” she wrote. “Grateful to God for guiding me on this incredible journey and for the people He placed in my life through the years to make this all possible! Here’s to more moments like these 🏆 🎬 and to normalizing talking to Jesus like you’re talking to a friend.”

DIVINE INFLUENCER follows the journey of “an entitled influencer [who] loses everything…she must humbly trust God to understand what the meaning of true influence is. Desperate, she takes a job at a homeless shelter only so she has a place to lay her head and quickly realizes the joy and purpose that comes from serving others.”

Part of Movieguide®’s review of the film reads,

DIVINE INFLUENCER is a faith-based movie on Pure Flix about a spoiled 29-year-old social media influencer named Olivia, who works for a fashion designer. Olivia offends her boss and gets fired. Meanwhile, her wealthy but philanthropic Christian parents cut off her allowance. The same day she loses her job, Olivia gets evicted from her apartment. A series of incidents leads her to get a job as an RA at a Christian rescue shelter’s dormitory for women, A man who went to her high school runs the mission. Can Olivia fit in, find Jesus and learn how to be less selfish?

DIVINE INFLUENCER is a heartwarming, uplifting movie about a spoiled, selfish woman finding Jesus and learning to help others. As Olivia, the woman in question, Lara Silva does a fine job showing the growth in her character. After all, it’s hard to love a character who’s selfish and spoiled. DIVINE INFLUENCER tells a story meant for older adolescents and families, but it’s a wholesome movie that offers a good way to introduce children to the idea of helping people less fortunate than themselves.
