Beloved GOOD MORNING AMERICA host and longtime designer Lara Spencer is preparing for an exciting return to television with a brand-new thrifting and design competition series set to debut in 2026.
Titled THAT THRIFTING SHOW, Spencer’s new series comes nearly seven years after the cancellation of her hit HGTV show FLEA MARKET FLIP, which she hosted from 2012-2019.
“It is so meaningful to share my childhood love of thrifting and celebrate this new generation’s passion for sustainable design,” she said when she first announced the show back in September. “As you will see on THAT THRIFTING SHOW, there are so many incredible treasures out there, just waiting to be reimagined and given a new life. To see the rooms these designers create with their thrifted finds is aspirational and simply amazing.”
And she just dropped some good news. THAT THRIFTING SHOW will debut in just two months!

“My new Thrifting/design competition show launches in 2 months on @freeform and @hulu (cannot wait and think you will LOVE THAT THRIFTING SHOW) but I do it in real life every week with my design partner Lisa-hunting for gorgeous treasures for our booth LeTigre Collection at @fairfieldcountyantiquedesign. 50 separate design/antique dealers open 7 days a week,” she posted on Instagram earlier this week. The post included a carousel of photos featuring beautiful antique finds.
Her fans couldn’t be more excited.
“Can’t wait! Thrifting is my favorite hobby!” one fan wrote. Another said, “Yes!!! I have been not so patiently waiting!”
“In the 12-episode series, vintage design expert Lara Spencer presents two designer duos with identical rooms,” the show’s description reads. “With limited time and budget, teams must treasure hunt for vintage and thrift store finds to design their way to beautiful, layered, finished rooms. It’s style and sustainability in a race against the clock.”
Thrifting is more than just a career for Spencer. In fact, it’s always been close to her heart for a very special reason.
“I’ve been going to flea markets since I was a newborn,” she told HGTV in 2022. “My mom loves the thrill of the hunt, so she’d pack me up in a stroller and take me with her. Flea markets, yard sales, thrift shops — they were all places my mom and I loved to go to, especially as I got older. In fact, it was something we had to, because we didn’t have a lot of money. You can find really wonderful, quality items. My mom is phenomenal at it.”
While we don’t know the exact premiere date, fans can’t wait to see what Spencer discovers on THAT THRIFTING SHOW!
