Award-winning artist Lecrae snagged two more Grammys at this year’s awards show and gave the “credit to the Lord Jesus.”
Per The Christian Post, “At the 66th annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 4 in Los Angeles, the 44-year-old artist won Contemporary Christian Album with ‘Church Clothes 4’ and Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for ‘Your Power’ with Tasha Cobb.”
“I don’t even have words at this point and time,” he said during his acceptance speech. “At the end of the day, so many people put so much hard work into this music, into this project…Every single soul who touched this project, everybody who listened to it, enjoyed it, understand that, man, the gift that we all possess, like I said before, I have to give credit to the Lord Jesus for just being my all in all in everything, to allow me to speak the words that I have in art.”
The rap artist also shared a photo of his two Grammys on his Instagram.
“I haven’t fully processed it all yet,” he wrote on social media. “I’m grateful but it’s really something beyond my understanding. I just wanted to be the father I never had and give my kids experiences. God is beyond kind. Once I have more words I’ll share but for now… Thank you God for being gracious. Thank you Jesus for allowing me to be a part of your kingdom and using broken instruments to play healing music. There are sooooo many people to thank…my list is coming soon.”
In another post, the rapper wrote, “Two more trophy’s to pass on my descendants. I’m grateful and I’m also really sober. I know people may think I’m not celebrating but I’m celebrating how faithful God is. I’m celebrating that after so many trials, failure, and pain…He still sees fit to use me. I’m grateful for everyone who has been a part of my journey and I honestly wouldn’t be the me I am without you all. This is for all the kids who are UNASHAMED to love Jesus, but wanna do it in unconventional ways. God sees even if the world doesn’t. And sometimes the world does.”

Christian rapper Lecrae shared why Christians should glorify God through creativity and discussed his upcoming role as Gabriel in the nativity musical JOURNEY TO BETHLEHAM on Matthew West’s podcast.
“I think we are supposed to be innovators. I think God, you know, is the most innovative being in existence and we’re His kids, and so we reflect that innovation and creativity. So, let’s strive for that, let’s push for that, let’s push to make people go ‘Wow,’ like, ‘Woah, what did I just encounter,’” he said.
“A lot of times, especially as Christians, we can get lazy, you know, cause we give a lot of participation trophies out for the message. It’s like, ‘Oh man, great message man,’ but it’s like, ‘But was is good?’” he added. “Did you find a creative way to say that? And so, I don’t want that. I want people to be blown away because they encountered – it’s not me, obviously. It’s me inspired by God to put something in the world. I want them to encounter that. I want them to feel that because that’s what inspires people and drives people and pushes them.”
