The Miami Dolphins traded one faith-filled quarterback for another one, securing Malik Willis as their new starter after releasing Tua Tagovailoa.
As Willis signed his new contract with the Dolphins, he shared a special message with the Green Bay Packers organization and fans to express his gratitude for their support.
“Much love and respect to Packer Nation supporting us and me the past 2 years! It has been awesome upholding the standard for the green and gold. It has been more than a blessing, and I will never forget my time here and the relationships I made! Fins Up,” Willis wrote.
The quarterback concluded the post with one of his favorite Bible verses, Matthew 6:33-34, which says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

In 2021, Willis spoke about his faith and discussed that in every circumstance, he wants to always glorify God.
“I choose to always give the glory to Him,” he said in the Fall 2021 edition of Sports Spectrum Magazine. “People say I’m humble, but I don’t really know if it’s humble. It’s just very, very obedient, knowing that it’s not me at all…You’re using the abilities that God gives you and go out there and glorify His name and try to spread the Gospel.”

“No matter how long we live, we will never know what God has going on for our lives, so we’ve just got to lean on Him — ask for wisdom and the strength to get through it,” Willis continued. “That’s what I ask for the most: wisdom and strength to get through it. Wisdom to try to not fully understand because we’ll never fully understand what He has for us, but just understand what I need to be doing at the moment, what I need to be doing to prepare myself. And the strength to get through it mentally and physically.”
In many of his posts on social media, Willis references his faith.
“To God be the Glory in victory and defeat! Blessed to have this opportunity to glorify Him again! Gotta keep pushing,” the quarterback wrote on X in December.
“Thankful for the opportunity to glorify God once again. Didn’t go the way we wanted, but still all the Glory to God,” he said in another post.
As Willis gets started with the Dolphins, he’s certain to take advantage of his platform to share his faith.
